tOSU +1.5 at Purdue (ov/un 135.5) Sun 1 ET, CBS

Halftime stats that must improve:

5 assists to 9 turnovers
60% from the FT line (6/10)
Thomas shooting 0 for 5

I suspect DT won't see the floor much, if at all, the second half unless fouls make it necessary.

Buckeye team D really suffers when foul trouble keeps them from playing one of their typical lineups.

That's absolutely right. I'm pretty sure that particular lineup has not played together before, with both Dallas and Deshaun in the game, and Sully and Buford on the bench. Anyone can have an off day shooting the ball, but it's much less forgivable when it looks like they aren't trying to play defense. Maybe it's a matter of not knowing assignments...

Buckeyes looked flat and tired to me on the small screen. I think that Matta needs to get into their heads big time at the half. Early calls went against Ohio State every time that they got momentum, but their turnovers cut them short thereafter.

The Buckeyes are now going to find out if they deserve to be the #1 team in the country. Purdue is a really good team, but Ohio State is the better team. Focus and execution. It's up to them.

Great point. This is exactly why he shouldn't be taking a ton of three's RIGHT NOW. Not to say he won't be the second coming of Diebs (Sub 30% freshman year) but it does mean that the majority of his shots should be INSIDE 23 feet.
deshaun won't become diebler outside the arc unless he puts in a ton of work in the off-season. in high school, deshaun regressed behind the arc. i'll be happy if deshaun maintains a percentage in the upper 30s after this season. it's all on him, though. he needs to put in the hours like diebler and lighty have. i hope he has the work ethic.

So has Diebs hit the record 3 pointer yet?

Sorry for the ignorance fellas but I'm TDY and doing some serious book crushing while trying to watch the game.

He tied the record early in the game on a ridiculous off-balance shot as the shot clock expired. He missed his other attempt.

We win if Sully and Buford actually can stay on the court this half.

I think that is the issue. Purdue is being allowed a lot of bump and grind while guarding Ohio State, Sully is being mugged down under. I accept that a few bad calls went the other way too, but the refs are having way too much of an outcome on this game.

Purdue is looking to win the last five minutes. Ohio State needs to make every possession count and slow it down. I'm not convinced that they shouldn't drop the man-to-man coverage and go zone.

DANG! Thats the one shot I didn't want to miss either! :(

Oh well, maybe I will see his next one that actually sets a new record, in the second half.

The second foul on Sully was an easy call. The first one I didn't get to see very well. That was the big call of the half and I was worried when the whistle blew. Thought both calls on Buford were legit, but don't know how you calls those and let Purude freely handcheck the last 7 minutes of the half. Our guys were literally trying to slap their hand off of them on offense.
