I think he went with what he learned was the prime directive from Meyer, thou shalt hire the best recruiters.

As we have seen there has to be some allowance for their actual coaching skills. Urban still makes that mistake, it would only stand to reason that Herman would/will do the same.

I think they differentiate themselves on a different element of the business than marketing.

He should've learned that was a terrible idea when we watched Beck and Warriner piss away some of the most talented OSU offenses ever. I'm still blown away Herman let Tim Beck do anything other than print up copies of the play book to hand out.

I think you underestimate them. If their last one before the late 00s was the early to mid 70s, I think they only have 20 years to go....give or take.

No way do they fire Herman after two years. If they do, I really can't see any worthwhile coach taking that job regardless of the paycheck. Foosball coaches are arrogant sob's, but they're usually not complete drooling idiots either. Herman will get four years.
