Tom Herman (Former Head Coach FAU Owls)

So, in the time of one season, Herman is suddenly a Mensa idiot who needs fired? You go from having a record setting offense to people wanting you fired?
Buckeye fans are so spoiled.

I agree that those calling for him to be fired are a bit over the top.....that being said, I'd like to see a great improvement with his in-game adjustments. I understand the Bucks, especially on O, are young, but at some point you have to stop running 5 & 7 step drops + play action when it hasn't worked all night.....

There were a lot of questions about play calling last year.
The idea that it's suddenly flipped b/c of 1 game is a non-starter.

Edit: Agree with MD about firing. Thanks for being the voice of reason.

When Herman was announced, I had a long talk with my F-i-L about him. He had watched Iowa State in the Pin Stripe bowl that year and wasn't to impressed with what he saw. I defended it by saying just wait until he gets the caliber players that Ohio State gets and puts in his offense with Urban. I thinking I might have been wrong.

I haven't been thrilled with his game plans for a while...it almost feels like he gets too cute and tries to prove how smart he is. Like MD said his adjustments aren't there and he seems to get stuck on repeat on the same plays a lot.. It's like he gets lost in the spotlight, and plenty of smart people have trouble when the pressure is on, a world of difference between expectations in Ames and Columbus. Maybe he can, maybe he can't

Not saying he should be fired, just saying I won't cry if he takes another job next year.

I wonder if Urban will take over play calling duties, or give Warinner more input.

I don't know where that Read-Option pop pass or Read-Option deep pass went, but if he'd have run it a couple of times Saturday it might have killed Va Tech on their blitzing.

I have no idea why the guy just doesn't adjust to what the defense is doing to him. I wonder if there is a disconnect between him and the rest of the staff or the guys executing.

They went deep many times. Devin was the only one who felt like catching it.

Have no clue where the idea anyone in these last few pages was calling for his head, that's a bit much. I'm just looking for some more background to maybe provide some insight into his play calling and decisions as someone who really doesn't know much about programs outside of OSU, the B1G, and a few of the other national powers when it comes to things like assistant coaches and coaching philosophies.

That said, I am starting to think I won't be bothered too much if he would leave for another position.

This line of thinking is absolute insanity to me. Our offense has improved TREMENDOUSLY under Tom Herman and people already want to throw him under the bus for having one bad game (while still putting up a decent number of points) against one of the best defensive coordinators in the game. Brilliant. I, personally, hope Tom Herman is at OSU for a long time.
