Name someone that is a better leader?

Sorry I thought you said in the history of mankind. Obviously Tebow is the greatest leader in the history of sports.

My top 5 for mankind would be roughly like this

1. Christ (hey I was born in the western world I'm a homer)
2. Moses (old school)
3. Tebow
4. Muhammad
5. Buddha (If he took better care of himself physically he could be higher)

I know I'll be moving in with Salaman Rushdie now dodging pissed off Muslims the rest of my life but I call them like I see them. If TT wins another Heisman and the NC this year you just have to move him up to #2 imo.

He's the greatest leader we have ever witnessed across the board in sports.

Oh rly? By his shining example in college football overshadowing ALL sports?

This is interesting...

People that criticize his passing...How many picks did he have last year?
He had 2 going into the NC and threw 2 unlucky picks in the NC to have a season total of 4!

Yeah, and how often does UF seriously throw the rock downfield? Hmm? I can think of several passes last year that by the hand of jesus himself had to help Tebow otherwise they were picks (the tipped pass to Harvin vs LSU comes to mind) that DB should have had that ball. Most of their passing games comes from intermediate routes trying to get their playmakers in space, i.e. pretty safe throws.

Then again, I'm sure you must think that Chad Pennington is an elite QB just based on his completion percentage last year.

He's a system QB. He works the system very, very well, but he is a product of the system.

The name Alex Smith ring a bell? He's another Meyer product who was the first overall pick in 2005. Don't think that NFL teams won't be gun shy about Tebow. It was well documented that they were last year so I'm not sure what's going to change.

If Meyer starts putting Tebow under center and having him throw deep outs that would help, but is that going to happen?

Not unless what we're doing isn't working. The goal is a Florida SEC Championship, and then what else might come about. Tim's draft stock is waaaay down the list of team priorities. But if we are up big on Hello Kiffen at the half, then that would be a fun thing to see - have him do the throws like an NFL combine try out.

Gator you may be right about the team's priotities, but I specifically remember reading an article with UM, and he said that TT had only taken like 5 or so snaps rfom under center (in his career), and was going to try to work more Pro-style things into the Offense.

I would consider college football the greatest sport. What do you think the greatest sport is?

You don't necessarily have to throw the ball downfield that many times a game...take a look at the average scores of last years games for the gators. If they would have been chucking the ball downfield they would have really been running up the score.

Anyways you run what works when it comes to offense.

Christ will always be my #1, sorry if I made it seem like something else.

Then there should be no reason to incorporate ANY pro-style sets in this offense aside from your basic goal line formations. What you have hasn't not worked, so I'd like an explanation as to why their doing this in Tebow's (money) final year?

Probably to prepare for next year because Brantley is a pro-style QB.

Well, Brantley isn't the starting QB this year, and its not as if Meyer will really be switching to a full time pro-style. Just more of a passing spread offense.

So the question still begs, why now? or, why bother?

I think the difference is the assumption about how many snaps that will really entail. If Emanual Moody steps up, you might see it on some short yardage situations. But taking Tim out of the running equation is a huge mistake normally, as it just lets the extra defender focus in on the running back. If we let Tim get some clean up work under center to let him get some reps and the team transition to Brantley - then that is just added win. So the end of the year he has another twenty snaps. He has a talking point for his agent, and no harm done to UF. Hell, anything taking extra time from our foe's DC is all good.
