The list above UTSince's post had a lot of guys that Tebow has not eclipsed yet, or if so, not by much. The list by UTSince was definitely inferior to Tebow, save maybe Leinart/Peterson, though I'd still put Tebow above them

Yes, yes and yes. Why not? Why is that so surprising other than the fact that some people don't like him because the media is all over his nuts?

Because I watch games and i've seen nothing from Tebow that suggests he is an all timer. Yes he is a good quarterback but I just don't see where all this greatest of all time talk is coming from. I just don't understand what is so great about him. He can bulldoze his way for 4 yards and a first down...that's good but nothing too extremely special.

Isn't it interesting that in all that time nobody else in the SEC ever bulldozed his way into the endzone as many times. I guess nobody wanted touchdowns back then.

What about in the SECCG and BCSCG when he was dicing up 'Bama and Choklahoma through the air in crunch time? He may not be the prettiest, but he gets the job done...consistently, and I've seen few with the passion that he has. I'd take him over pretty much every QB the past decade saving perhaps VY.

Yes he did have good games in both of those games. I'm not denying the guy is a good qb. I'm just honestly not understanding why his name is brought up so much in the all time discussions. We also must not forget Percy Harvin's exploits in that game. Without him I don't think Florida wins that game. He took a couple of short little dump passes for very long gains.

As far as Tebow vs his current peers at qb. Tebow's record as a starter isn't much better than McCoy's record as a starter despite playing one less season as a full time starter.

Tebow: 22-5
McCoy: 32-7

So you see McCoy only has two more losses than Tebow does despite being a starter for a year longer. Also keep in mind that one of those losses came in a game where he was knocked out in the first quarter and the other loss came in a game that he had no business playing in anyway.

Like I said Tebow is a good quarterback no doubt. But I don't see what makes him that much better than his current rivals McCoy and Bradford let alone the all time greats.

As far as the Tebow vs VY question goes there is one question I always ask people. Do you think Texas beats USC with Tebow at qb? I honestly don't think so.

Since this whole best of all time discussion is purely opinion I'll add mine.

I think Tebow is easily one of the top 5 college football players of all time. I told myself he was overrated and tried to hate him for 2.5 years of his college career before finally giving in and admitting that I was seeing something special. It honestly seems obvious to me but I'm level headed enough to realize that this is just one person's opinion.

I think Harvin was a special player that was a huge contributer to Tebow's success.
Also, Florida's offense is off the charts creative. It made Alex Smith a first round draft pick. Of course Tebow is going to look phenomenal in it. What could Pat White (or about 10 other guys the past few years) have done in that offense?

Don't get me wrong, I would take a team full of Tebow's any day of the week. Great guy and super athlete but best ever? Not sure

Tebow might be one of the best all-time leaders and faces of a dynasty. Great, great player as well. He's an all-time legend, but I'm not sure that he's a top-5 legend yet. He can achieve that this year.

I often wonder how good Steve Bellisari could have been if he had played in a system that fit his skill set. Then I watch Tim Tebow, and I get my answer.

And if he didn't drink, have pre marital sex, or do anything else like a college kid. Agreed on the other points.

Tebow may have just hit all 7's with the situation down in Gainesville

Absolutely. I go back and forth between the Black INT and the Harvin run that reversed the Okie momentum as the play of the game.

Also true. In Glendale our sets were so varied that we got your outstanding D to watch instead of reacting (well, the soft cover D was part of that), and we have one coach just checking our own offensive trends to help us avoid being pigeon holed.

I am not one of the "best ever" guys. But I think he deserves to be in the group of extraordinary leaders and achievers, and not behind some LSU lineman.

He has two title rings. The 1st was won while playing situationaly and really not a great impact on the last game. The 2nd won almost in spite of him and his two turnovers. That Gator D played with insane resolve and tenacity. All credit goes to them imho.

He's a good athlete in a GREAT system; more importantly he has tremendous heart.

However there were several players on the list that UT mentioned I might just take in college. Leinhart and AP the most notable for their college success. One 30-2 as a starter the other should have won the Heisman as a freshmen.

BaseBuck was right, he hit 7's at UF. A combination that comes around once every so while...

By the By Ubet, not sure if I would call our 2006 D "oustanding"....
