Does Hendrix remind anyone of Tebow? Both are tough, backs are a little hunched, throws a nice ball and can scramble a bit. Granted, Hendrix is nowhere as elusive as Tebow, but I think he's going to pick up a few 1st downs here and there.
Not really outside of physical measurables being sorta similar. Tebow is a once in a generation player.

I hate to say it but....there aren't many guys who lead like Tebow. Tebow as a leader may just be the best ever.

Just how in the heck do you even evaluate something like that? Yelling does not equate to leadership. Maybe Tebow is one of the best leaders ever but I've yet to see anyone bring up a good argument as to why.

No, Hendrix doesn't remind me of Tebow. Tebow was a tank in high school too. Hendrix's running is a plus, not a main part of his game. Seems more like a Joe Bauserman.

You can't necessarily quantify it...it's just something that's there. Tebow's record and intensity speak for itself. His teammates react to him.

[on topic]Andrew is a very solid prospect, though. He reminds me a bit of Chase Daniel in a way.[/on topic]

Tebow is 22-5 as a starter. Not special. If Tebow can win an NC despite all the pressure, then I'll believe in the hype. That would take tremendous leadership to keep his team from getting complacent. Before anyone gets it twisted, I'm not questioning his character. He's probably Tressel's ideal QB. Very humble and gracious. But there have been other great leaders. Vince Young probably didn't yell as much or take things as seriously, but his style worked and his team followed him. Craig Krenzel didn't have half of Tebow's talent but he was tough and gritty and won ball games.

Sorry to continue off topic, mods. Please split this off.

You're equating Tebow's leadership at Florida to yelling. It may be a tough thing to quantify, but it's not hard to tell that such a description is selling him short.

Leaders lead by example. They earn the trust and devotion of their teammates by knowing that they'd run through the same brick wall for them. They accept responsibility for failure and mistakes, but use those events as catalysts for success. What more can a rival player do on and off the field to prove himself as a leader?

September 27th 2008 called, they want to know why you stopped watching college football.

Krenzel had to throw for 0-1 tds a game to win. Tough, gritty & won ball games don't sound like Tebow at all though.

You know what people call the 'It' factor. Whatever that is, Tebow has alot of it. Not sayin' he's the best ever, just sayin' sometimes a guy just gets it done. May no be pretty all the time, may make a mistake, but he just gets you were you need to be. Tebow is that guy. I hate UF, but no one can say a bad thing about Tebow off the field either.

Forgot to include undefeated. Leinart did it. Young did it. Lets see if Tebow can do it.

Pac 10,Big 12,SEC...One of these conferences is not like the others........I doubt if FL loses one game, but win's the national title it really matters..There's not a whole lot he hasn't already done. You sounds as if you are reaching for that last grasp not to give him the credit everyone else will once he's done.

At 4:30 every morning this summer Tebow and Brandon Spikes and Ryan Stamper are at the weight room starting their workout. They have told everybody on the team that no one gives a damn (Tebow says "hoot" I assume ) about last year, we have to win one with a bullseye on our chest this year.

A leader does not talk about it - a leader demonstrates what is needed and asks others to give as much as he does. Everybody on the team sees how Tebow and Spikes and Stamper are walking the walk. Yelling "let's have a good summer workout" will not get it done. Tebow is all about actions and backing up his talk with substantive effort.

As to "pressure" Oregon, as hokey as that speech after Ole Miss seems to people, that was - to me - putting an extraordinary amount of pressure on himself. If anyone dogged it from that game on - even if just one defensive back mailed it in during one half - it was Tebow who had promised to make his team work harder than they had ever worked before - and it was Tebow who would eat the crap for a bad effort.

My sig says how he got his team to respond in the BCS.

Hell, in the 4th quarters of the SECCG and the BCSCG he was a combined
11 of 11 Passing, for 148 yards, with two TDs, O INTs and he rushed for 45 yards. What does he have to do??
