Heard someone speculate that Jets could have acquired him for the simple puspose of using him to trade up during the draft, but if he's only worth 5 and 6th round choice that seems like flawed logic. But let's say they can use Tebow to snag a couple of good receivers, leaving them free to trade Holmes and end some of the locker room problems...
if Holmes is causing lockerroom problems, just have him spend 15 min with their new acquisition. problems solved for life, and beyond.

Tebow was given the choice of going to the Jets (a dysfunctional locker room and a swearing coach) or Jacksonville (where he played college ball and is basically a state hero) and he chose the Jets. What does that say about him?

I think the question is, what does it say about ESPN (who repeated this line ad nauseum), and yet:

There was one revelation: Tebow said he didn't have a choice in his final destination -- who do we think he is, Peyton Manning? ? and that it was Denver's decision all along.

"Ultimately, I really didn't have any because the Broncos had all that power," Tebow said, brushing aside reports (including one on ESPN) that he controlled where he would end up and adding that Denver was "gracious" in the way it handled the process. "I was just kind of watching and waiting -- kind of like everybody else. It was an interesting day."

Anyone watching Tebow's Jets press conference on ESPN? Can't believe the crickets are in here.

Bonus points to everyone here for not paying attention to ESPN period, but especially to ESPN's pathetic attempts to drive coverage of absolutely everything into the ground.

I vote that the crickets continue in this thread and am proud of everyone thus far. Don't disappoint me!

No doubt. Haven't watched, read or listened to ESPN in months, just happened to have it on and thought there might be some humorous comments - but crickets - carry on.

I think it is a great move. His salary is chump change, and as long as they keep him in a wildcat package and let him try to reinvent his passing on non-game day time, he could do well. Last year in the red zone he averaged 4.1 yards per carry, and scored 5 touchdowns in 13 carries. If he is willing to play that roll - and continue to work on his well known deficits - it is a win-win. Other than Timmy hatred, it looks pretty simple to me. Tim is going to an offense that is very Wildcat friendly, and he did not cost that much.

Agree. Good change of pace and also gives Sanchez some much needed competition. I like Tebow a lot. The man walks the walk, and most want to see him stumble. Not me!

Yesterday was an all-day-drive-sports-talk-radio day. Every talking head on that four letter network (Mike, Mike, Cowturd, Gottlieb the check thief, and so on were talking about and complaining about the media circus surrounding the Jets right now. The words do not even exist in out language to describe the level of irony. :smash:

Nike Sues Reebok Over Tebow Apparel

Updated Nike won a temporary restraining order on Wednesday against Reebok, stopping it from selling Tim Tebow shirts and other apparel.

In a showdown between sports merchandising giants, Nike alleged that Reebok illegally sold Tim Tebow shirts and other apparel soon after he was traded to the Jets last week, according to a complaint filed late Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan.
