Great. Now I get more Tebow coverage on local media. Just what I had hoped for.

Yeah, well, with the exception of Gator', we all need to stock up on a case of Chloraseptic. We're facing a long, bleak future of having Saint Tebow crammed down our throats.

(Criminee, even the original Jesus finally went away--why can't this guy?)

I do, and I for one will revel in their demise.
I hear ya man. But it's a long line that's been forming since the "Chosen One" production when he was in high school, and there are a lot of pissed off people who've been waiting in line for years and left. Lots of new people will be joining I'm sure.

Thing about being on the pedestal as the living embodiment of perfection: it takes a lot less to topple off than it would for an ordinary human.

The sad thing is that Tim has never, ever held himself out as the living embodiment of perfection. I can see hating on someone when they provide most of the ammunition, but I am surprised at those hating on him because ESPN and CBS provide incessant douchebagish coverage of him that he has absolutely no control over.

If Tim thought he was the living embodiment of perfection I'd be happy he won some games at UF - but I would not like him as a person. I mean, I will always treasure Doug Johnson hitting Quezzie in a game winning drive to beat FSU 32-29 in 1997 - but Dougie was always a dick! Tim never was. The over the top adulation by the press is annoying as hell, but Tim did not ask them to say that, and there is no way he can control the press, any more than he can control his pick at #25 being the lead story of the 2010 draft.

I feel bad that he is hated for things that are largely beyond his control.

Pro ball is in fact a hell of a lot different than college ball. As Steve Young (who I normally think is a moof, but made a good point here) said, the difference between college and the pros is that in college someone is always open...in the pros no one is ever open. Tim has a lot of good field qualities that made him a good player on Saturdays, but I don't think fitting tight spirals into coverage was one of them, and that will really put him behind the curve in the NFL. He may get his shot, Lord knows he's on a team with tweedle checkdown and tweedle caveman, after all, but I don't think he currently possess the tools necessary to be an NFL QB that is moderately successful consistently.
