While you shouldn't say it out loud on twitter, it is very true that Illinois is not a destination job. Their realistic ceiling is consistently going 8-4- with some seasons being better and some being worse.

There was a time when Northwestern's ceiling was 4-8 & Wisconsin's was 6-6.

If Meyer stays at Ohio State for a decade or more, I would call Beckman a smashing success if he is consistently in the upper half of the division and wins the division once in the next decade.

Given the hammer on Penn State, I'd think that Illinois can perennial team vying for 2nd place in our division. Heck, they may be able to make a run for 1st place this year with OSU out of the mix.
