Eh, take away a 9-4 season midway through his tenure there and he was a <.500 coach, including 22-27 over his last four years. He never sniffed HC consideration from any major program, and will be 62 in October. He's the definition of a "place holder." Of course, this is Illinois, so he'll probably lead them to a 6-7 record and a bowl game, then get the job because nobody else wants it.

HUGE interest in the job? WTF is this guy smoking? Three years ago they couldn't get anybody except some muppet from Toledo to take the job. He smashed the program off an end table for three years, so now there'll be interest in it? Guess ThaKid got a job blogging for "Football Scoop." :slappy:

Helwagen (sp?) on 1410 WING said to look for the President of Youngstown St. to be a candidate. His reasoning is the show cause ends next year and the President likes to tour former players of his around YSU football practice in a golf cart. He cited Teddy G. and other former Tar Blooder's were there recently and he had the look in his eyes that he misses the game.
