speak to it then
Kevin Wilson has not been perfect this year. But, Tom Herman was not perfect in 2014. There’s no such things as a perfect OC. That said, how anybody can objectively look at our offense this year, compare it to the offenses from 2015-16, and not see the difference, is beyond me.

Let’s go to the numbers...
2015: 434.6 ypg/35.7 ppg (with, arguably the best collection of offensive talent ever assembled at tOSU)
2016: 459.2 ypg/39.4 ppg
2017: 577.3/47.3

2017 is before today which totaled 529 yards and 39 points

For shits and giggles:
2014: 511.6 ypg/44.8 ppg

Now, the qb play:
2015: 2454 yards (188.8 ypg), 19 td, 9 int
2016: 2781 yards (213.9 ypg), 26 td, 7 int
2017: 2604 yards (325.5 ypg), 28 td, 2 int (thru 8 games)

2014: 3707 yards (247.1 ypg), 42 td, 12 int

Wilson/Day are coordinating an offense on an historic pace. Beck was involved in two offenses that, any way you slice it, massively underachieved. If somebody cannot see the difference, I don’t know what to say to that. It’s right there in the stats.

Everyone should also go back and like all of @alexhortdog95 ’s early posts in this thread.

Honestly, if someone else didn't bump this thread, I was going to. Been holding off most of the week, but I'll go ahead and publicly question just want exactly he brings to the table.

Biggest thorn for me is the eerily similar lack of visibility and comments from him that reminds me of Everett Withers (how many interviews did that guy even do? 2?). Seems like the last time we heard from Coach Beck was his amateur comment about "flipping a coin" to decide who got first reps to start Fall Practice- which seemed to upset Cardale. It has been mishandled since and both QBs look awful in their decision-making, throws, and confidence.
This was after game three of the Beck era at Ohio State.

And then to game 11 of his first year, when speculation began about the best way to get rid of him.

Withers had interim HC experience from North Carolina. Tim Beck ain't gonna get a James Madison-type offer. If they end up wanting him gone they'll have to fire him.

It really is a darkly humorous experience going down memory lane via this thread now that we’ve put a season between OSU and Beck.
