FIFYI remember vividly a Husker explaining that BECK likes to constantly throw “new things/looks” at a defense to keep them off balance, even when the current look is working just fine.
In retrospect, the issues with not having an identity and not running plays that build off each other were not surprising at all, given the warnings.
Defense played the game of their lives against the 2nd most efficient offense in the country, and Beck is up in the booth smearing his feces on the walls.
Beck gonna beck. That one drive with 15 yards came from an inside zone play with Warren that netted 15 yards. We then threw 3 straight times and punted. Turrible.
"Run outside zone for a loss" needs to be added to the bingo card
“Well see, the defense EXPECTS you to go back to plays what work. It’s better to keep them guessing.”
/beck
Chip went off on a Beck this morning. He started off by praising the opening 3rd quarter drive. We came out in a power formation with Brewer at H-back, ran the ball 8 times on a 13-play 71 yard drive that ended with a chip shot FG.
Beck then decides to never go back to that, and instead run 4-wide sets the rest of the game:
3 plays, -13 yards PUNT
3 plays, 1 yard PUNT
4 plays, 15 yards PUNT
3 plays, 1 yard PUNT
3 plays, 7 yards PUNT
3 plays, 7 yards PUNT
3 plays, 8 yards END OF REGULATION
7 drives, 26 yards of offense.
