Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

Italian seafood salad for course two of tonight’s night of the seven fishes feast for two (I made a lot as it will keep for a couple of days and it’s a pain). First fish will be a can of fancy sardines from Portugal. This salad has fishes 2-6 (shrimp, mussels, octopus, cuttlefish, and bay scallops), and the main course will be papardelle with lobster and lobster saffron cream sauce for fish seven.

I’ll be finishing it with some quick pickled carrot-celery-Fresno pepper giardinara and correcting seasonings about a half hour before serving it.

Do you prefer bourbon or scotch? Had this discussion with some family over Christmas.

i prefer the price of Bourbon, but like a good Scotch over ice.

a bottle of 1835 (Bourbon) will run somewhere between $40-$50 and is pretty solid.

a 12 year old Macallan (Scotch) is closer to the $125 per bottle range.

i just ordered a bottle of Sinatra Select Jack Daniels for $160.
That’s by far my favorite whiskey. Just hard to find and obviously not cheap.

i’m thinking about really splurging and getting the gift set of Doc Holiday bourbon because the revolver looks cool.
just not sure i want to pay $200+ for something that i’m not sure i’ll even like.

I love a good Highland Scotch. MacCallan has such a buttery smooth flavor.

I drink more Bourbon though just from a price point.
