I was not a fan of the mutton but had to try it as that's what Owensboro is known for.

Had my first s’mores with a peanut butter cup instead of the chocolate bar. Not too shabby.

I went to Johnnie’s for lunch today, I live less than 15 minutes away but had never been there.Best Italian beef in the Chicago suburbs?
Johnnie’s Beef in Arlington Hts
Combo of the hot peppers in the sandwich and the chill from the Italian ice lemonade was perfect.

Now THAT'S how you do it. BTW, for anyone who may not know, bone in meats make the most flavorful and delicious stews. Your next pot roast go to the Asian market and get a bone in chuck roast. They seem to be the only ones that still sell bone in meat.Saved some old lobster shells and fish skin and made about a quart of stock out of it today. Then I used some of it to deglaze and make a pan sauce. Quite tasty indeed.

I have to confess, I do like turning "trash" into a tasty meal. Whenever I trim chicken of beef I save the trimmings in the freezer. If I have an extra half onion... to the freezer...Now THAT'S how you do it. BTW, for anyone who may not know, bone in meats make the most flavorful and delicious stews.
