Are we allowed to petition the mods for a tomato lovin’ member to be put in time out? That watermelon chicken (two words that should never be connected) looks raw.

you gotta get outside of the city for the good stuff though.

if you want Italian, head to Mosca’s on the West Bank (was a former Mafia hangout, bet them walls could tell some stories).

if you want true cajun head west into Acadiana.

if you want an amazing cross between true cajun and creole with some serious mom and pop type influences (in other words PERFECTION) head down the bayous of terrebonne and lafourche.
Each of the 5 (in not giving Pointe-Aux-Chenes their own bayou) all have different influences. and through generations they’ve been cross bred now.

some seriously good shit!

I spent a lot of time down there from 2000-Katrina, it was my wife's favorite place to spend Christmas and we also loved the French Quarter Festival. We tried so many different places that I can't remember them all but we hit all the "in spots" for locals because we had a good friend in Kenner. As far as fine food goes no one beat Commander's Palace for it's quality and consistency. Top notch food and service 100% of the time and the place has such a classy but comfy feel to it. Biggest disappointment was Antione's. Our waiter treated us as if we were diseased scum :lol: I still remember his name "Sterling". We didn't eat at any touristy crap food like Court of the Sisters or whatever it's called. We went to some cafe in Baywater called Elizabeths (I think), they had praline crust bacon and Bananas Fosters pancakes. I can't even recall the places that I have no recollection of because I was bombed. N'awlins did a number on my liver. Also, you guys have the best flea markets of anywhere I've ever been.

Commander’s is top notch.

there are other great places in the city, you just have to go off into the neighborhoods and find the small places for the authentic foods.

i say that, but the chicken gumbo at the restaurant inside the WWII museum is really good!

Bobby Hebert’s place in Metairie is also damn good. But he’s from Galliano, so he damn sure ain’t a city boy.
