Thinking of switchin to WOW from Time Warner

Time Warner's claim is 5Mbps, and you can get up to 8Mbps I guess.. But, I think the highest any individual user actually recieves is closer to 3Mbps Download speed (not sure of the up speed)

I consistently average 4.8Mbps on the downstream and 370k on the upstream.

Thats my issue right now. I'll probably go with the 4 MB option if I switch, but considering the package that I have from TW right now (only digital cable and internet, no phone or HD), I'm not going to save much money.........so I'm not sure if I'm going to even bother.

BKB, no NC game in HD? Why? Isn't it on 6? Is it because of their dispute w/6?

Well, yes, it's no NC game in HD. It's on Fox this year, not ABC... But both Fox and ABC are owned by Sinclair here in C-bus, and for whatever reason TW and Sincliar are in a years long pissing match so TW can't broadcast what is otherwise free over the air. (Sinclair wants to charge for the signal, and TW - correctly, if you ask me - says, "Fuck you, are you kidding? You want us to charge our customers for some shit that is emitted out of your tower for free?")

you could always just get the HD anntane to get all the broadcast HD channels. I think you can get them at radioshack for around $50.

I don't think cable internet is affected by how close it is to relay point

No can do.. My HDTV is HD ready/capable... not HD integrated. (meaning, I need an external 180 dollar tuner too)

I use WOW for cable, internet and phone in a bundle. Great deal (about $105/mo with unlimited LD and digital cable - Starz, Encore, most sports channels but not ESPNU or NFL channel), great service. BTW, I have the highest-speed net access available from WOW in the Central Ohio area. Typically I get about 4.8 Mbps download and 1.8 Mbps upload speeds.
