The way I look at it is like this I was born in a small town of less than 2000 in Ohio. I chose a smaller college than tOSU (Miami U.) for school due to being a little naive to the world at 18. I couldn't have delt with such a large population at the time.

It is this and only this, while I chose to be a Redhawk, I was born a Buckeye. You can change a choice you can't change how you are born.

I bleed scarlet and gray... not red and white.

Gotta say I just don't have much experience with these types of comments.

We have small schools in Georgia and they're quite competative in Football. But they are all Div II, so they don't fuss much.
The Dawgs and Jackets will play them once every three years for the paycheck - but there is no animosity there.

GA Southern is the breadwinner in this example. Paul Johnson and Ga Southern vs. Jim Tressel and YSU were some great small school matchups.

In high school I helped an friend's fraternity at University of Akron. His frat was not musically inclined so I played in instrument for their song portion for Greek Week - or whatever they call it, it was too many year ago to remember.

During practice they stopped for two reasons: to watch Van Halen's "Jump" video and to watch Ohio State Football. A number of kids even wore OSU hats on campus despite their location. Of course Akron's football was a joke... but EVERYONE stopped and watched OSU football. Go Bucks!

UGA and GTech play DII schools? You can't be serious... I'm assuming you mean 1AA/FCS?

Ohio State hasn't played a DII school since... shit, I don't know. We played a few DIII schools in the 30's I guess... Mt. Union and Ohio Weslyan...

Edit: Georgia Southern and Savannah St. are 1AA/FCS.

I guess everyone does refer to smaller schools as DivII. :p

FCB - you're absolutely correct! I meant IAA.

The ironic thing is that the hard core haters who loathe their own in-state Big Ten school probably root for other Big Ten school's against their own. The losers on the directional Michigan boards are likely all big Ohio State fans come the third Saturday of November. Likewise, the losers on the Fredo boards are undoubtedly all "Go Blue" on the same day, and the losers on the Ball State board like anyone who beats up on their big brothers.
