The Zombie Apocalypse has begun...

In positive zombie news, it looks as though Brad Pitt is finally getting World War Z into production and has a release date for next Summer.

Rumor was that the major studios were backing off because of the book's anti-China angle. I didn't read whether he was forced to rewrite those aspects a'la the Red Dawn remake.

Police: Hackensack Man Stabbed Himself, Threw His Skin And Intestines At Officers

A man who stabbed himself and threw pieces of his skin and intestines at police officers trying to subdue him was hospitalized in critical condition on Monday, authorities said.

Officers encountered 43-year-old Wayne Carter on Sunday morning when they responded to reports of a man barricaded in a room in Hackensackhttp://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/05...s-police-catch-alleged-burglar-in-hackensack/ and threatening to harm himself, Lt. John Heinemann said.

Two officers kicked in the door and saw Carter in a corner, holding a knife in his hand, police said. Carter, ignoring the officers' orders to drop the knife, stood up and stabbed himself in the abdomen, legs and neck, they said.

Carter yelled at the officers and took an aggressive stance, and the officers used pepper spray in a bid to subdue himhttp://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/04...r-treatment-of-occupy-wall-street-protesters/, but it had no effect, Heinemann said.

Police said that Carter then cut off pieces of his skin and intestines and threw them at the officers.

The officers decided to retreat and call in the Bergen County SWAT team, Heinemann said. Carter finally was restrained and was taken to a hospital just before midnight.

Sounds like these occurrences may be more common than one would think--especially as they relate to bath salt trips. (We may be on the cusp of a news cycle that begins to pay attention to these stories.)

My wife's aunt is in a line of work were she knows most of the cops in Akron. She was talking with a couple of them about the Miami incident and they told her of two similar cases in last couple of years in Akron. One involved a woman who was tearing out pieces of her own flesh like in the New Jersey case and the other was a man who dug out his eardrums because he thought the canal was infested with insects. Both were tripping on bath salts.

Heard multiple stories of people taking of their own limbs on bath salts, mostly arms.

Absolutely crazy sh*t.
