XB1 The Xbox One, AKA The Greatest thing EVER Created (that Haters Gonna Hate)

Bought the XB1, but now I'm trying to figure out what my old gamer tag email was. Made that shit when I was like 16 fucking years old. Who the fuck keeps an email that long. On with support now trying to figure out how to use the same tag, which is burkett41.

So this question is for those that have significant others...what's your guys' set up for the xbox and TV? I'm thinking of getting a large tv (65") for our family room, and move the xbox from my small space downstairs up to it. How do you guys share the TV w/ the xbox, etc?

few questions first..

Married or dating?
Length of time married or dating
Does she understand you like the video games?
is she cool with watching you play?

I have my ps3 hooked up to the only TV in the house. I worked it so that I could game for a couple of hours a few days a week but my wife is cool with it and doesn't get bothered by it. It all depends on the woman and the arrangement you agree to with her..

Short answer: This will not end well for you, my friend.

Slightly more serious answer: I have my Xbox in my living room so I can play it on my 55". Nowadays I mostly play when she's gone, asleep, or has work to do and wouldn't be paying attention to the TV anyway. It works for us. We enjoy a lot of the same shows, so I'd feel kind of rude sitting in the living room playing video games when we could otherwise be watching something we both like. Especially after we've both gotten home after a long day of work. I will say, though, that it has led to me playing much less.

Very serious answer: If you value being able to play on your own time for however long you want, leave your setup downstairs. My wife has never complained about me playing video games, but I have a feeling it would reach that point if I took up the living room TV for a number of hours while she sat and watched. I guess she could always go watch TV in the bedroom, but I'd never ask her to do that.

At this time 4 years ago, my younger brother lived with me and I had a 55" and a 42" side by side in the living room. My xbox was hooked up to the 55" and his to the 42", and we played Call of Duty online with our college friends for 3-5 hours every night. On Saturdays we'd have 2 college football games on at the same time the entire day. Ahh, the good old days

Married with a 1 month old who is starting to sleep through the night. I won't be able to justify putting the 65" down in my gaming area just for my X1....other option is to buy another 47" and have a 2 TV set up in family room

2 story house? if so you have to go in the family room, just talked to her about it and tell her you'd like some time to play downstairs on the nice tv without waking the kiddo. I think you'll be fine. I did this with a 2 kiddos... 1 that didn't sleep through the night until she was 1 year old :)

Not certain about the specifics of your family situation. I have my XBox hooked to the main family TV. We probably use it more for Netflix and Insanity than games. I have two daughters, a 14 year old and a 9 year old. It kind of sucks when I want to play violents games. My wife will bitch about exposing my 9 year old to high levels of violence. If I had the option of having my own video game area I would probably prefer leave it there.

From Sept 7-13 Microsoft will be offering its new system,( kinect, kinect-less, madden, and forza bundles) with the incentive that once you buy you can pick from any game that has released. This will include Destiny. Saves you 60$.

Can someone tell me, does snap TV work with every game?

For Titanfall it will pause the game when I snap TV. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
"Xbox Snap TV." then double tap the Xbox button to go back to the game. I only had issues with the TV input when I first got the Xbox One. The cable box and Xbox didn't want to cooperate, but after some troubleshooting (rebooting the cable box, a couple of hard reboots on One, and an update later) it works great.

God invented many screens. Use them for your sake and your marriage.

1) When I have time, I can game without interrupting anything
2) When she watches something I dislike (not common), I can wear headphones and the gaming sounds drown it out.
3) When I want to watch a second football game, I can watch it on my monitor while she watches something on netflix.

- HDTV mounted to wall
- Computer monitor set atop coffee table (easily removed when we have visitors)
- Wall installation for HDMI cords to easily switch inputs (see #3 above)

Win. Win. Win.

It was one of the best investments I made back in the mid 00s. Back then a 27" monitor cost $400-600. These days they can be found for 150-250.
