The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Shocked to say it, but that was actually an incredible episode imo. Keep that up and I might actually might want to keep watching. Fantastic episode.
They’ve gone away from being comic spot monkeys and actually taken television storytelling seriously. They may still get to some of the “iconic” Whisperer moments, in one form or another, but Kang is smart enough to understand that, like wrestling and any other form of entertainment, the payoff only happens if the buildup is executed properly. It’s amazing to see how much of a difference the show runner can be, and just what an incompetent asshat that Gimple really was.

Kang actually has me counting down the days each week until the next episode of the TWD which hasn't been the case in years. This season has been fantastic, and I hope people take notice and jump back on the bandwagon with her in charge. Every time I see Gimple on TV or read an interview with him I just cringe wondering how in the world AMC put that jackass in charge of their biggest cash cow. That dude is so in over his head it's not even funny.

Show has definitely got way better. The bummer to me is that the Kang was not directing when the show could have been at its peak. That being said, I am back into the show as a whole.

Agreed a billion percent on this. Gimp(le) assfucked the entire Saviors storyline. That could have been 2 years of TV that rivaled the Sopranos or Breaking Bad At their peak in terms of quality. Instead, they wasted the biggest war, the best villain, Ricks best years, about 15 important characters, and JDM because they had a guy who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel deciding to pick 5-6 OZMG MOMENTS and just throwing them out there randomly with about 29.5 episodes of useless crap filler.

Exactly and throw in the fact that there is only one Grimes left standing and I don't give a shit about 80% of the characters left, the next director is incredible to be making the show watchable again. But yeah, they squandered what could have been amazing TV after the first episode with Negan.

Gotta admit, I didn’t see that one coming...

Never thought I’d say this again, but it sucks we have to wait until February for a new episode.

I am with you man, I was blown away at how good that was. The cemetery scene was chilling and creepy as hell, but incredibly well done. That was an amazing episode and a great season that I was not expecting. Honestly, that was the best episode since the introduction of Negan. I thought the show was dead after Rick Grimes exited. He wasn't the problem, but I thought the show was just gone. But now it is right back, the writing and directing is just lightyears better. The Whisperers is definitely an interesting group.

I was behind and just caught up. Agree that the last two were the best lately. Did I somehow miss the backstory for the beef between Michone and Maggie/Hilltop, though, or are we all supposed to be wondering what they're talking about?

By the way, the end of the cemetery scene elicited an audible, involuntary Holy Shit from me. I don't think that's ever happened before with TWD.

We are supposed to be wondering about it (as well as the X shaped scars on she and Darryl). There’s a lot after the jump they haven’t revealed.
