The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

True story:

So there was this place right next to the Hineygate hotel that led to a singletrack bike route. You had to dive into some trees, you wouldn't know it existed by sight alone. Some of you may know it.

I was chased into the route by zombies.

One of the zombies wasn't very decayed yet, she must have been new. She was pretty hot.

So anyway I tried to hook up with her. Protip: don't sleep with a zombie. They bite. I made it out of there. But I'll never forget my zombie love.

I do not entirely believe your story.

Ok, so after tonight, I'm hooked again. I thought they might find Sophia as a walker, but not in the barn. And the dynamic was awesome...Hershel sees his family slaughtered and they have no problem doing it, but they hesitate when they see Sophia and realize what Hershel and his family just went through. Sorry, but I thought that was a great ending. I do agree some characters need to go (Dale, maybe Andrea, and Sophia's mom) and Darryl's brother coming back would be interesting.

OK, I agree the ending was filmed well, but the fact that about 6 shitty episodes led up to it sorta ruined it anyway. I will be honest, I wasn't expecting the girl to be a walker in the barn, I expected there to be a kid to come out for the whole harder-to-shoot-than-an-adult thing, but not her, so that was clever. Of course Rick had to show his Rambo-ness to Shane and shoot her, lest his wife start doing the horizontal mambo with him again between tricks with the suddenly much less interesting blonde. I guess I get what they're trying to do with Dale, they're setting him up to be the meek/conscience/Angel to Shane's Rambo/Devil on Rick's shoulders, but they've done a piss poor job setting it up because he isn't believable...right now he is a blonde-obsessed dirty old man with a hat and an RV. Glen is an interesting character to an extent, not sure where they're going with him, but Jesus, WTF are they doing to Daryl? Dude picks flowers and wears ears. Looks for a mother's daughter and calls her a "stupid bitch". I mean, nice writing, very believable. It's like they want him to be some sort of Redneck Rampage combo of Rick and Shane, without getting laid and without a say in what goes on.

Bottom line is I'm sure I'll finish out the season in February because there's nothing on in the winter, but I can't see this show going to a year 3.

If I read it right, they've fired their writers...again...so there might be hope for February.

Kudos to whoever (I'm too lazy to look back thru this thread to find it) first posted a link to this site:

Should be a recap of last night's show forthcoming. Half the reason I watch the show now is so these snarky recaps make sense to me. I think they're funny as .

Has anyone been watching Hell On Wheels that airs after Walking Dead?

Yep. It was a shame to see Buffalo Bill get his throat slit in the first episode. I guess he hasn't had much work since Monk ended.

Wow- did you have to capitalize every word?

IT WaS FoR EmphasiS.

As to "enjoying" it...a lot of people enjoyed the first season more than the second. The complaints are due to the constant mind-numbing inconsistencies, illogical acts, and tedious All My Zombie Children dialogue.

It seemed like they were trying to set up a Platoon-ish "can you act morally in an essentially immoral/amoral world?" dilemma with either Glenn or Carl as Charlie Sheen's character.

This is at the core of the show. The world as we know it is gone. Civilization as we know it is gone. So. Have all the moral values of civilization gone with the wiping away of our world as we have known it?
Too deep? Or just part of the misery of trying to just survive in a world gone to hell? It's a very dark show. It had to be. It makes for some of the most ithought provoking viewing.
But I suppose some will watch it just to play "Doom" and watch zombies get blown away in various ways. :paranoid:

The little girl being found a zombie was perhaps the most powerful moment in the shows 2 years. It was a gut punch.
