The thread where Diddy explains his social media policy (split from Z. Smith)

You are wrong.
Shane McMahon has a long inglorious history on Twitter.
I won't go through the list.
Most recently his tantrum directed at Target was a fireable offense.
If one of my employees did that they would face serious discipline up to termination.
If it was just the Malibou's Most Wanted act on Twitter, I could overlook it. But alas it isn't. Trust me.
LOL

A lighthearted tirade against an enormous corporation is a fireable offense? They wouldn't accept a returned item. I remember that chain of tweets, it was clearly in jest and he was obviously bored and went off on a little rant. How is that fireable? Once you turn 30 and you're a coach for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, you can't have a little fun? You know what would be a fireable offense? Not being able to recruit 4/5 star athletes to tOSU. Not coaching up top-tier NFL talent. However, despite his silly rants on Twitter.com, he's somehow been able to accomplish both.

The fact that you mention a take down on social media as reason for termination proves that you have no knowledge or experience in firing people.

If I started terminating an employee who's only offense was some potential misguided tweets, HR and the lawyers would laugh me out of the room and then send an email to my boss that he needs to watch me.

Absolutely correct! Smith looked like a tool for a couple of days and I hope he exercises better judgement going forward, but I am having a hard time thinking of anyone getting fired for this. (As an aside, I actually quit following him on twitter b/c his Target stuff was so annoying)

On the balance ZS's tweeting where he tweaks Michigan or other places is great.

Hell if he worked at Target he would have not been fired. Free speech and all..Target is the most liberal work environment ever.

If by liberal you mean 'cultish.' Haha. I lived in downtown Minneapolis for years and have many friends that work (or worked) at Target. Some hot girls there too! A person would have had a nice black mark in the eyes of some managers and may have limited some advancement but wouldn't have been fired.

Wrong.
Using company email or Twitter accounts for childish, embrassing, juvenile rants is strictly forbidden.

Guy recruits with the best of them, his WR's love him and due to that forming the 'Zone 6' has become a trendy position group that has had staying power beyond the 'No Fly Zone' and any other position groups that have popped up. He connects and creates relationships that sometimes only he can do - he serves a purpose none of our other coaches do and Urb knows that....it's a well rounded staff and he's a large part of it.

In a few years he's going to get a promotion by a P5 club as OC/RC - odds are, you'll miss him.
