Agreed, except for rooting against MSU. Yeah, they need to lose for us to be conference co-champs (they beat Wiscy), but I won't feel bad if they run the table. In fact, I'd love to see them run the table and then plunger rape Boise State/Oregon in the NC game. If we can't be in the NC game, then I want to see a Dantonio-coached team there.
If tOSU stumbles again then I will 100% root for Sparty, but we're not out of the conference championship race yet. Until then, I will root for whoever needs to win (excluding scUM obviously) in order for Ohio State to climb back to the top.
Besides, Sparty, and probably most (all?) teams in the nation, would get steam rolled by Oregon. I've never seen anyone near as collectively explosive and I truly have doubts they
don't go undefeated, though they have quite the gauntlet to navigate. To be honest, I hope we don't meet them again this year because based on what happened on special teams and how our defense got taken out to the shed last night we might get beat by 30 points.
Also, I'm not all that sure Boise doesn't beat Sparty. I know most people around here don't like them, but every time they play a big game they step up and perform. No matter how you slice it, Boise is a good football team that could absolutely compete in any of the big six conferences, and they're very well coached. No, it isn't hard to go undefeated with that schedule, but it is very hard to maintain mental focus when you're favored by 20 points in 85% of your games. Just look at Ohio State in the Purdue game last year..when you come in unfocused you can get beat. That coaching staff hasn't let that happen, and that's more than JT and the gang can say.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Buckeye and I root harder than anyone you know, but I'm also a realist.
Flame away.. :p
