The steady decline of student attendance

HD and its afffordiability makes the stay at home experience Great..Hell in the 70s most TVs were in a student lounge and most of the games werent telivised. My first TV was a 13 inch Black and White..that didnt rival the GameDay experience at the Shoe.

My wife had two friends over two years ago for tOSU vs Wisky. Miller hits that TD in the end zone and I jump and walk around the house with my arms in the air. They all look at me and tell me how good I was during that game and how my playing really helped the Buckeyes win. They laughed at me for a few minutes. I, in return, got wasted playing drinking games and then took a nap at the table. I showed them.

As always, living well is the best revenge. And drinking enough to fall asleep at the table is living well. (I recommend The Highland Park 18-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which is living particularly well.)

concession prices
uninteresting games/bad opponents
bombardment of advertising at every break

All of these things make the live experience less enjoyable, and all of these things stem from greed. The universities are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Big-time college football has become such big business that attending a college game has a completely different feel from even the 1990s. College kids maybe don't feel so much as though they're supporting the school as going to a big, expensive entertainment event.

In addition, the rise of high school soccer and lacrosse (among other HS sports) has occurred as football participation has dropped. Eventually big-time college football may become pretty much like pro sports: a place for business entertainment only.
