The Paul Finebaum Show (Official Thread)

I just wish they would do more football programming, I can't get enough of it. Today I wanted to watch conference championship analysis and the BTN had volleyball on, while the SEC N ran football segments all day.
If it isn't Ohio State football, I'd rather watch Olympic Sports. Hell, I wish they'd rerun every episode of The Journey in the off seasons of their respective sports. But Minnesota V Indiana from 2011? *FAAAAARTNOIIIIIISSEE

Ever since the Bucks beat his beloved Bama team in the '14 playoffs, he's had a ton of respect for them and I think he actually is now somewhat of a closet fan tOSU. Now, he takes it up a notch by ripping into the scUM fanbase:

Paul Finebaum: ‘I have never met a Michigan fan who has had an ounce of humility’

Once again, Paul Finebaum is letting his thoughts on the Michigan fan base be known.

It’s no secret that the widely broadcasted college football radio analyst has a strong distaste for those in maize and blue. He made that clear earlier this season when he called Michigan fans “a whiny and sniveling bunch” before saying “call me back when you win just one championship.”

Thursday, he took it a step further. On ESPN’s “Mike & Mike” show, Finebaum ripped into Michigan fans.

“I have never met a Michigan fan who has had an ounce of humility or didn’t think his team was the greatest of all-time regardless of the record – especially since Jim Harbaugh took over,” he said.

Finebaum was then asked who he thought had the most arrogant fan base in college football. It was an opportunity Finebaum used to take more shots at Michigan.

“They have won a half a national championship in about 60 years, and they talk like they’re Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Penn State wrapped into one,” he continued. “[…]When Harbaugh showed up, it gave them a sense of entitlement that they really haven’t earned.”

All of this appears to have started from Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic discussing a video of actor/Michigan fan Verne Troyer being hypnotized to say he liked Ohio State.

Finebaum ended his rant by saying that Michigan doesn’t have a seat at the “big boy table” in college football.

The full video of his comments can be found on Business Insider.

I am really starting to like Finebaum.

He's become a realist the last couple years. Seems to understand what's good and what's not good and since last years bowl games he's even said the SEC is down and that Alabama is beatable against the top teams in the country especially tOSU and Clemson. I do admire the fact that he calls out some of the die hard fans on the ridiculous comments they make and also his destruction of Jim Harbaugh. Colin Cowherd is also a guy that I think was heavily disagreed with back when he was with ESPN AND SINCE HE's been with Fox has criticized the SEC and really favored tOSU since '14

Difference is, I think Cowherd(though I am a fan of his) is just riding the hot wave of "Urban and OSU are great". If OSU were to lose to Clemson or even lost to scUM, Cowherd would've ripped into OSU and had a lovefest over Hairball. I feel that Cowherd likes the hot takes, and jock sniffing the winner over being realistic like Pawl

Cowherd is a front running toolshed. Nowhere near the cheat code level of guys like Bayless and Screaming A, but a toolshed nonetheless

Agreed, I think his level of douchiness is several levels under Stephen A and Bayless. But he's certainly a front runner. He loved bashing OSU, especially when USC was good and beat us down(I believe he even had a sound byte comparing women in Cbus to women in LA, like it matters or is much of a comparison). He was quiet as a church mouse when OSU beat Arky and Oregon, but scoffs at the hiring of Urban and our undefeated season. But is ready to get on his knees for ol Urban after the NC was won. And even when OSU had their struggles last year, he kept his front running hat on and slurped up Urban and OSU. We are now one of his favorite fan bases all of the sudden, which is all comical.

Barely 10 minutes into the show and Tide fan wants to get rid of Jalen Hurts because "he can't throw!", among other things. If Saban doesn't replace him he'll "destroy this program!", and "how does Cooper Bateman look now?!" Fans like that deserve to get everything they ask for, and should be forced to live with the results.

Next up? Joe from Red Bay and his dog named Saban. :slappy:
