Are we the new BAD GUYS of COLLEGE FOOTBALL ???

I know, I didn't post this to hear about how ESPN hosed us and how it's not our fault, I'm going at it from a different angle ... I think I brought this up on another site and people got mad at me .. but what the heck ...

Won't it be fun if everybody hates us to beat them ??
Every game will be great to win ! To stick it in their pie holes !
Just like it was fun to root against the 80's/90's canes, it was probably also a lot of fun to root for a team that many consider 'The New Bad Boys' !!!!

Again, I don't think our teams/coaches conduct is much different than any others ... just wondering ?

I think he could be right, as far as the preception of the casual CFB fan across the nation. Personally I would not appreciate people thinking that about the team that I root for, but it will take time to change.

Most of the people that call Ohio State "a bunch of trouble makers" or whatever are extremely uninformed as to what the Buckeyes were "in trouble" for in the 1st place. All they know is that ESPiN said that we're in trouble, so it must be true. They also can't tell the difference between a booster giving a player money and the university giving a player money. You don't know how many times I've heard "OHIO STATE PAYS IT'S PLAYERS! THAT'S WHY THEY WON A CHAMPIONSHIP!"

It's somewhat ironic that the program that has the proudest history, the program that cares the very most about honor and fair play, the program whose fans care the most about paying forward (for so seldom can we pay back), the program that values the contribution of all it's students (like Block O, the cheerleaders, and TBDBITL) as part of football's success, the program that swells with pride over its historic old stadium, the program that hired the coach who demands the most personal accountability from his players, the program that best exemplifies what is great about America and college football, would be the "most hated" program. If this is true, it is because most people who call themselves college football fans these days are clueless.

Like the old saying goes, "if they're running ya out of town, get out in front and make it look like a parade".

Our program is clean, our coach is a solid guy with more character than 90% of D1A coaches combined -- if people want to hate on us, I say revel in it. We're getting a clean bill of health from the NCAA, and every day MoC looks more and more like a disgruntled loser than a credible source. ESPN will be on their knees next year trying to bring their mediocre dog and pony show to town, only to talk smack about us.

They're really gonna hate us when we're in Pasadena next year, beating on Golden Boy Petey Who Can Do No Wrong.

Screw 'em all.

Not to start any crap but how do you guys figure that you will be the NC this year?
If charlie wies can figure how to beat USC and have a season that will help ND to go to a bowl game..and may be even win it, we guys can figure ways to go to the NC game, Teddy Ginn getting a Heisman and AJ Hawk getting the butkus award.

I can't think off any teams outside of USC that has a much better chance. I'm not saying we are going to win one for sure because EVERY D-1 team has a greater liklihood that they will NOT win a NC (according to probability).

If you want to ask us how we figure we will win it, I want to know how you figure we won't? Give me 10 teams that you think have a significantly better shot than we do. I'd say we have a better shot at winning a national championship than Notre Dame does at even playing in a BCS game.
