The Masters Tournament 2009

To be fair, Cabrera's win doesn't come from nowhere. He did, after all, win the '07 U.S. Open. He's right there on that second tier of golfers right behind Tiger.

This is true, but he just isn't someone who lends any excitement to the game. Going into the tournament, even with his U.S. Open win, he was merely an afterthought if even in anyone's consciousness to win this tournament.

Outside of the big names like Tiger, Phil, Els, Harrington, etc. there were many more people I would have liked to have seen come through that would have been more intriguing to the game like Sergio, Camillo, Casey, Stricker, or Kim...

Cabrera is like a cockroach; he just cannot die.

Terrific end to the 2009 Masters. Congrats to Angel Cabrera.

How many times do you get to move on in a 3-way playoff when you bogie the first extra hole? Say "Thank You, Jesus!" Angel.

Whoever was going to win it was lucky as hell at that point.

I'd prefer to see someone birdie for the win, but it was entertaining.

i'm not sure which majors i like better. the ones where someone steps up and takes it by the balls, or the ones where everyone is just trying not to choke it away. this one was definitely the latter. i feel for mickelson more than anyone. i mean, jesus, he set the scoring record on the front then completely fell apart. IMO this was worse than his melt-down at winged foot. 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18... that was awful! from friday afternoon the only guy in that group who belonged was Cabrera. when THEWOOD said neither perry or campbell would win i agreed with him 100pct. it was cabrera's to win all along. i just don't think its as fun to watch him play when he doesn't smoke a pack a hole. he needs to start smoking again!

why i love the masters...

we had Jake, Grad, gator, buckeyebri, Max, on the edge of their seats. the masters is the only week where other sports fans get into my sport as much as me. as usual, this was a great tournament. there is something about the masters that just brings the best players to the top of the leaderboard...
