I had taken a series of lessons earlier in the spring, and while I was striking the ball better at the range, my game on the course went completely to shit. The last round I played before today was four weeks ago, one week after my final lesson. I shot a 53 then and it was the first round I had ever played where I didn't do at least one thing relatively well. After all of that, I think more than anything I needed to forget about golf and forget about swing changes for a while and come back fresh.
I putted better today than I have all year - turns out all I needed to do was completely ignore all of the advice I got from the professional. :tongue2:
My first ever round of golf was two years ago next month. I had been starting to get disappointed that I was mostly scoring the same as I was when I started. Today's round was definitely encouraging in that regard.

83 on Friday with 37 putts. Played 9 yesterday and shot 41 with 21 putts...21! Made two birdies and still shot 41.
My putting depresses me.

Got you beat. 2 birdies and a 45.wadc45;1958711; said:Made two birdies and still shot 41.
