Played the first nine of the day yesterday afternoon at Oakhurst CC. Course was in good shape (although the greens were a little hard). Hit some good ones and hit some bad. Just enjoyed getting back out there. Must figure out how to control the driver

Frustrating round and I think this may be the final nail in the coffin for my current putter. (I have to blame something) I shot 81 today with 36 putts! 11 GIR and I only missed 3 fairways all day. 5 3 putts on the day. 4 birdies on the day 3 of them were putts made from within 3 feet--I was sticking my approach shots on the back. I had absolutely no feel on any putt outside 7 feet. I really think I am going to give a belly putter a go. They have a very nice Scotty Cameron (http://www.scottycameron.com/putters/puttermodel.aspx?id=414) in our proshop and it looks sweet.

Anyone have advice on how to fix the putting woes?

shot a 1 over 37 then fucked up with a 42 with a 7 on a par 3. ended up 79 winning front back and totals. nice $27 plus my 4 birdies for skins with 10 guys including me. Good day. the extra 18 after that, whoooooooooooooops

we were in a foursome, had a 3 men, 1 women and 2 kids 6 some in front of us. caught them on a par 4 with a par 3 next. get on the tee box wait about 5 mins. next hole par 5. they tee off and go while were putting. WTF IS THAT. hit my drive into them about 285-290 after we waited on that tee box for 10 mins. (buncha hacks) next hole par 3 the hit, then go to the left side of the hole tell us to come on up. One of our guys smoked one of there carts. never laughed so hard in my life. hate assholes with shitty golf sense.

you hit into a group with women and kids???

fuck, you hit into anyone? if some asshole did that to me, regardless of how long you think i am taking--I would tee that ball back up and rip it right into your group, especially if I had my wife or kids with me.

I change putters more often than most change underwear. Most of time carry two putters, blade and mallet in bag, and interchange when one deserves a 'time-out'....

I buy them and then discard them (never sell them), and bring them out when needed. I've spent hours on practice green with three or four putters, doing two at a time.

Usually, it's set-up and the world famous 'de-cel'. Make sure you're taking the club back no further than your back foot, and accelerating toward the hole. More control. If that doesn't work, it's your allignment. Do you stand a bit open toward the hole (all the better to see the putt!)? If so and you pull, square up a bit, as you've drifted too far outside the line....

Putting is the most individual as one can get. Cars, clothes, women, all pale in comparison in individuality to the stance and stick you use. No pro will touch you (or me), except to waste your time and money and give you the basics that you can get in "Golf my Way" by Jack Nicklaus or anyother How To book.

Confidence, and feel. If you are sticking your irons to within 15 feet, and not coming within an inch or so, look at the greens and reading ability, and your stroke, to make, not lag......You're a great golfer, I'm a hack, and I've got these suggestions to you...My apologies, just trying to help. Been there, been frustrated with that.

ok "into them" was wrong wording. more like up to them 10-15 yards behind them. They just pulled off to the side of the par 3 after they hit and we asked to play through. and waved us up. was just odd. kids were running around the green as we were teeing off. We did hit into them when they waved us up. (being they were 10 yds off the green)

Yes wood i was aiming for the kids head. the wife looked like she took a couple to the head already. hit it back at me if ya want to. it'll be a lil short :wink:

We dealt with a similar issue like this yesterday. We went off #1 tee and a group of 8 (yes 8) had a side bet going on as all 8 guys hit from the 150 stick into the green. We proceeded to hit tee balls and as we went to get our tee balls they walked back to the 150 stick and prepped to hit again. We both picked up our drives and moved on to #2 tee.

I'm just saying man, if you were out there with your wife and kids and someone hit into you, you would probably be heated...thats all
