So our club is starting up a Thursday night league consisting of 6 players each. I am a captain of one of the team's and need to come up with a name, I need some help. I have done some research into names, however I am not sure which would be appropriate. Being 31, I am the youngest of the group. I like the name Always Be Strokin', Team Side Spin and The Handicapped. Thoughts or suggestions would be helpful.

For your group, Wood, my personal fav is 'the gimmies'. You could apply that to many things other than putts in the leather......

Another is the 'Reprises' which is french for 'mulligans', or 'do-overs'....but much more classy.

How about the 'One-Ups', in a semi-serious vein? Always leading, uh?

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: Since you're obviously the 'A' player, what kinda guys you got stacked behind you? If you guys are ham-n-eggers, you've got that one, or the 'scramblers' if y'all can get up and down alot......the options are infinite!

At the end of the day, "just win, baby" might fit you the best....:biggrin:

Played at the local course last week (pretty damn nice for a local course), The Golf Club at Rancho California. Shot a 94, without ever using a foot wedge or a mulligan so I consider it a mild success. Kept it on the course pretty much all day long except for a silly punch shot that went too far and landed in the water (mental error) and another shot that was just not square on the club face. I could have shot in the low 80's, at least, if I could get my short game in check. 39 putts, and that doesn't factor in my awful chips and pitches.

Doesn't look too bad. You two guys that are sub 12 will do just fine, and the guy who's a 17 and the 20 will probably suprise you at least one round a week.

Don't count on anything from the 24.

Im not listed. Im a 5. I know one of the 11s and he has good short game, just not very long off the tee. No idea about the others. The other teams have much of the same make-up of players, most of the better players at our club had little interest in playing or couldn't do to work.

Well then you'll carry the team then as a five. Always envious of guys who manage to get that good. Played at my dad's club and watched a guy go from a 1 to a +1 in the course of a round (shot 66) that day. I could only watch in amazement

I think you have to go with a caddyshack reference.

Be the ball ?

Ordered 22 and 19 degree RBZ hybrids. Should be here tomorrow. Also got to demo what they call the 3HL. This is a 4 wood with a 3wood shaft in it. Thing gets up in a hurry. Going to order one of those too. My woods are going to be all white here soon.

Is anyone playing well yet this year? I feel like we've had plenty of good weather but my game isn't coming along as well as I would like. I still feel like I'm playing for the first time of the season every time I go out. Not very fun!

I was playing decent in March, now I am sporadic. I was sitting on the desk today and thought it was too nice to not play golf. So I headed up to the club. I was regretting my decision after 9--I shot 44. I said its a beautiful day might as well enjoy it, so I grabbed a couple beers at the turn and headed out. I started to hit the ball better--much better. Shot 37 on the back. I was playing by myself for holes 1-13, when I finally saw another group out there. I am good friends with one of them so I joined up and we played as a 5some the remaining holes and I was even. I think playing with others make me concentrate harder and doesn't allow my mind to wander about.

Nice to hear about the RBZs, fourteenandoh. As you know I am a huge TaylorMade fan. I still think I may switch my i15s to i20s, waiting until our "demo day" next friday night.

I was hitting the ball solid and scoring pretty well. Walked 9 and shot a 37 on Friday. Played in a 4 man scramble and we shot a 57 on Saturday. Then came Tuesday. I was doing deadlifts and I felt a little tweak in my lower back. My back was a bit sore, but no big deal. Went to work and since the wife was meeting up with a girlfriend for dinner I decided to hit the course. Played well again, shot a 39. By the ninth hole my back was really tight. I ended up falling asleep on the couch watching TV that night. When I woke up I couldn't hardly move. I literally had to crawl up the stairs to my bedroom. Turns out I have a severe strain of my QL. I can't do shit right now. This sucks.
