I'm playing Links at Firestone Farms in Columbiana this Sunday. Is there anybody from the Y-town area that have played it?

I played it a couple times last year. For the area it is a pretty nice track. It was still a little immature last year, but should have filled in better by now. There are quite a few blind shots which kind of sucks when you have never been there before, and it is pretty open so the wind can really be a factor. We had a group of about 30 guys or so and they treated us very well.

Great course for this area, if the greens are in good shape. Played there a thousand times by now (only been there once this year though). Got myself a double eagle there a few years ago so that course is close to my heart. Wind could be a factor. Great scenerary, especially before they started building the houses. Several holes have a Myrtle Beach type feel, swamps and cat-tails. Others are straight up Ohio farm land type holes. I think you'll enjoy that course...Tell us what you think after playing it....

EDIT: One of the few courses you will never here "fore!". It is so spread out after you get through the first few holes, you will feel like you're out there all by yourself. IMO that's the coolest thing about that course....

EDIT2: They have some cool pictures in the pro shop (Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford; a relationship that has lasted for 100 years). Big time history on that piece of land....

Well I played firestone farms this weekend. I thought it was a nice track. It felt like a short 7200 yards. The fairways were firm, and you got plenty of roll out of your drives. The overall scenic quality was very nice. I really liked the the first par 5 on the back, and the par 3 that was all cary over water.
The risk reward factor on some of the par 5's tee boxs were interesting. I definately would try some of those shots in a scramble.

Overall I was happy with my round, and for $35 you can't beat it.

I want to fuck this chick. Why? Because she can fix my slice, among other things...

Played Blackhawk yesterday.

Nice track, not spectacular. A little tight.

I normally shoot in the mid-low 90's and was on pace to break 90 until we got to the last three holes, and this really pisses me off.

They had just aerated the fairways. so they were essentially a giant pliko board filled with crap shaped pieces of mud.

If you are going to do that, let people know when they make the freaking tee times. If we had known we would have played one of the other unused courses on our divot card like Cooks Creek, Westchester or even Shamrock.

Blackhawk has the nastiest staff I've ever seen as well.

If it's the first time you've played it, it's tough to score because there's a lot of tee shots that require a shorter club than a driver.

Not my favorite course by any means.

I've played a few times. The course was in good shape for 15 holes at least. The greens were very nice. It is a short course and has one of the goofiest par 5s in the area. (16 the 420 yd double dog leg)

Nasty isn't the phrase I would use for the staff. More like arrogant.

I do think I might try to play the Scarlet Course tomorrow. Should be a good day for it.

Be sure to check the highlights tonight. Woody Austin went in the drink trying to hit a ball out of the water in today's President's Cup matches. Pretty funny stuff...

EDIT: And BTW, the guy is on fire (falling in the drink not withstanding). He may be MVP for the Americans to this point...

You ain't kidding. He's made every putt he's looked at...Earlier this summer I thought this guy was just a loud mouthed douchebag. Fuck that. This guy can play and he's not scared of anyone. Bring it home Woody!!
