The Game, tOSU at ttun, Nov. 27th,12pm FOX (3654 down to 0)

The fact that they rely on the run and we still gave up 300 rushin??

Nope let them all go other than LJ.

If anyone pins this on "crazy ole bukipower" then shame on you.

We KNEW what was coming and couldn't stop it? lMAO... really?

Anyone going to ban me for saying everyone other than LJ needs to go? Or.....

I'm not sure I understand advocating to keep the position coach whose unit got blown off the ball regularly in both losses opening huge running Lanes. I honestly don't see how an argument can be made to keep a single defensive coach. Not one.

Ryan Day actually scored some points today. Nick has clearly lost it. Am I doing this right?
Needs more PAAAAAWWWWLLLLL
Good game. Whoever wins the rushing game usually wins these games.

I’m a man of my word; I’m donating $100 for the Michigan win.

See you next year in Columbus.
Nah, that sucked. But your boys deserved it. No excuses from our side today. Not valid ones, anyway. We just got beat.

The original question was: Is Ryan Day a great coach or simply a very good coach? It was a fair question. Day hasn't answered it yet.

Losing to scUM matters. Getting blown out by scUM matters more.

Losing playoff games matters. Getting blown out in playoff games matters more.

When your program is set up to be the very best and is expected to be the very best, it's not being an entitled arrogant little bitch to point out when it's not producing the best, and to question the people who are in charge.

And guess who's also questioning whether Ryan Day is good enough? Ryan Day.

I'm fine with bringing those things up, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: good coaches don't take their team through the shit storm that was last year and get to a title game. Yes he got blown out, but...I'm not sure what to say about it other than it would've taken a miracle for OSU to win a title last year and a minor miracle to make it a 3-7 point game against that Bama team. He also IMMEDIATELY pants'd Coombs in public when it was needed, and made the changes so that the team would even be in the spot it was prior to today.

This team could be amazing at times, but consistency was not their strength. They could never establish the run against good or better defenses, struggled with jitters in big games, and while the defense has made huge strides it was never going to carry this team against playoff competition. Some of that can be laid at the feet of Day, but a lot of it was due to relying on freshman to be your most important players.

In '22 they'll have experience and depth on both sides of the ball, but it's up to Day to figure out how to create the running game they need to dictate games. He has the RBs, but needs the mentality and physical OL. On defense, I actually think Barnes has done a great job forming something out of the shapeless mass that was the D at the start of the season. Today they just got beaten physically. Next year they might actually start the season with a decent defensive philosophy and good players at all levels.

I know I am pissed and said some mean stuff. But honestly the future is bright at OSU if we can get a good defensive coordinator that can develop talent. The D line looks like crap without a Bosa or freak Chase Young. So even the line needs a looking over. Hopefully Sawyer will be a badass next year. But 5 star Harrison isn't a stud... and many other high recruits.

I have always been a defense wins championships guy. Just because of days like today. When I turned the TV on at noon and saw the snow I threw up a little in my mouth.

Let's review your contributions to this thread:

You want Harbaugh to go pro so it's not scary
Freeman will fix it
Everyone on the defense is terrible and shouldn't go pro
We need to bring back Urban (as a way to fix a HC who doesn't have the right assistants, which was Urban's krptonite)
Two more posts begging Jim to go pro so it's not challenging
Day may clean house
1 minute later: Day should fire everyone but LJ
4 minutes later: Day should fire everyone but LJ
5 minutes later: quote someone saying Fire everyone but CJ or I'll be the worst BP poster ever
3 minutes later: start arguing with your imagination for what other people could but aren't saying
4 minutes later: back to the well, almost all should be fired
1 minute later: back to arguing with imaginary people

In 20 minutes, you made the same post fire everyone five times, and also took momentary breaks to argue with air (with about as much success as Tater Tot) two other times. That was after the Harbaugh nonsense.

And now you've posted the same thing 2-3 more times.

It's gonna be a long off-season with you guys. Looking forward to Spetember next year. 280 days.
It should be. But, I'm looking forward to it. I'm anxious to see what...if any...moves are made to the defensive staff because the way they performed this year should 100% initiate an Order 66. You don't lose a game like today and not have some fussy fans.

All that aside, this should have been looked at a "rebuilding" year from the start and we still won either 10 or 11 games. We still have a roster loaded with talent all over. We have an increible backfield and even if Mr. Wilson joins Olave in the NFL, we still have JSN back and one of the deepest WR rooms in the country. If we upgrade the D, next year will be a lot of fun.

I’m not happy to say this but the better team won today. That was an uninspired performance that I hope motivates a very talented team heading into 2022. Felt hopeless from the middle of the 3rd Q on and it was an absolute soul cleansing defeat. Call it complacency, arrogance, play calling, weather, referees, bla, bla, bla. We got beat. Own it and pick up your FN self and take a step forward. Some of you fans need a TO and perspective. We have many reasons to be excited and the biggest motivator in my mind is another 10 year run.

Clean up the defense starting with the coaching staff, focus on OL recruiting and this team is destined for greatness. Job #1 in 2022 is to return to B1G champions and knock Xichigan back to their rightful spot. Cheers

agreed! Harrison is the biggest disappointment of the 2021 team followed by the LB core who had 3 years to develop.

Pretty sure we're going to play another game this season. I'm curious to see how the team responds.

Coop's teams would usually lose to TTUN then play flat in a bowl game a month later. I want to see this year's team to show up looking to take out some frustration, and wanting to show they're better than what they showed today. If they come out looking like they don't care and lose that'll be disappointing.

In the Oregon thread I talked about how this would be Day's first regular season loss and I'd be interested in how he responded. By most measures he made the most of it, 9-game win streak. Every week he talked about how it was a young team and that showed in two of the three biggest games. I have a no doubt this staff will be different next season. Sucks there is presumably 1 more game and a 3/4 a year until we get to see it against No D.

So many young studs that missed an entire year either in HS or at tOSU because the COVID year. 10 win season is a good result and the goals remain the same next season. Make th adjustments on the defensive side of the ball and kick some ass.
