I don't think that the issue is that the B1G is the MWC. It is, however, way down and certainly no higher than 4th among conferences. Ohio State's defense WAS exposed badly yesterday. I don't think that Jeff is being sensational--his point is that we have looked at Truckdriver U and Kansas State etc over the years and argued that they played no one. Like it or not, the facts speak for themselves. Ohio State is now the one with the soft schedule.

When several of us noted the need to play higher to control the computer rankings, several posters tried to shout us down saying that there was no chance for Ohio State to get into the NC game. Well, Oregon, Baylor, and Alabama lost exactly the games that several of us predicted. Now, Ohio State probably slips to 6 on the computers after yesterday and goes to Indianapolis with an awful lot to lose, possibly even with a win.

This is a very good Ohio State team. They have a chance to get into the NC game. However, as Jeff points out, the menu has included quite a few cupcakes and the high-carb diet may come back to haunt the team. It's not about doing something wrong, it's about the low SOS meaning that this team really has not yet been tested. They looked like a minimum three-loss team yesterday, with some brilliant moments thrown in on offense. Their only quality win, sucked it against Penn State yesterday (seriously Bucky, seriously).

The offense is NC good, but the defense is realistically not a top 50 unit. It sure looks like they could get hosed by Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, or a host of other teams the way they played yesterday.

Meyer must be sitting back thinking that he either wins a NC this year or its several years away before another trip. You need a lot of luck to go undefeated. The lines and defense will lose so many good players next year. Depending on how the youngsters step up, of course, but we could be seeing many posters head to the sidelines next year for game thread whining during a 3 loss season.

If Gene Smith knows what is good for the Buckeyes, he will get out of one of the cupcake games next year and find someone of substance to put on the SOS to bolster it further, because the B1G is not going to be sorted out in a year.

I took my 10 year old son to his first UM-OSU game yesterday and it was my first game in AA as well. Most people were nice except for few of those types that never stepped foot on that campus for school, and of course we have plenty of those on our side, as well. I would like to say something about the seating in that stadium however. I simply hated the experience all together because of how tight people were packed. I really think that stadium needs to be re-analyzed for safety in case of a fire or some kind of event. There is absolutely no leg room and people are so tight together, every time someone was going out, it was a struggle to get through. I honestly think that people would stumble over each other and it would become a complete mess. We were also in the corner low and I really felt like I did not watch the game. The replay on the screen was terribly managed. I also think Ohio State should bring a complaint to the Big Ten and to the NCAA for the way music was used when we had the ball on offense prior to the snaps. I mean they had music playing until a second before the snap. I am not sure what the rule is about that but it did not seem right. That will definitely be my last game there. I am sorry to say.

The problem is the lack of linebackers. Shazier is it. That limits what the D coaches can do. The thing that concerned me is that Michigan had three good receivers and that Gardner, if not pressured, has a good arm.

I don't follow recruiting that closely, but Ryan is the only one of about 15 recruits that has panned out. That's not something you can put on the current defense coaches.

This. We haven't "fixed" the linebacker "situation", yet. Something only recruiting can really do. It's our big weakness, yet we continue to survive! Amazing coaching and guts on the players part! The two point conversion was perfectly defensed.
And we've seen TSUN's thug play all season. It's their "identity" under Hoke. I watched the Iron Bowl('Bama and Auburn) and there was less thug play in that game!
College football is a "play-off". You keep winning and move on.

If you want people to read your posts, perhaps you should stop with the insinuations that the B10 is comparable to the Mountain West conference. I might be crazy, but generally those types of comparisons don't add to your credibility.
The combined record of the Buckeyes' opponents during the 24-game winning streak is 138-159 (.465 winning percentage); and they have beaten just three ranked teams: 2012 Nebraska (#25 AP, #23 BCS), 2012 Michigan (#24 AP, unranked BCS), and 2013 Wisconsin (#21 AP, #21). That looks pretty Mountain Westish to me.

By the way, the Buckeyes have surrendered 517 points (21.5 points per game) to that less-than-stellar slate of competition.

Not knowing the facts doesn't add to your credibility.

EDIT: Ohio State is clearly the man amongst the boys of the Big Ten. That's not Ohio State's fault, that's the fault of the rest of the Big Ten who for whatever reason can't keep up. But with that being the case, Ohio State has to play like The Man, and not sink to the boys' level by, for example, giving up 41 points and 603 yards to a 7-5 Michigan team that probably should be 5-7.

The fact that the rankings bias isn't factored into your assessment renders it invalid, imo. I've watched an awful lot of football this year, and the SEC is absurdly overrated. The same Wisky that doesn't really count now that PSU beat them, should have a victory against a PAC contender at their place. The PAC is overrated as well. All because UCLA beat Nebraska in a highly emotional game after the Bruin player's death.

I bet no one here thought tOSU was overrated in the 90's after tsun ruined season after season. If no one told you the B1G SUCKS BALLZ!!!, how would you know?

Missouri. That's the only argument i really need to prove my point. Three DIVISION titles in 15 years in a week ass division where their only competition was...Nebraska.

I can't wait for tOSU to play in the title game and win.
