THE GAME, tOSU at tCun, Sat. 11/25, 12pm ET, FOX

Okay. Tell me who that guy is.
I can appreciate a bias for the known over the unknown, there is a false dichotomy here on this topic. I didn't know who Tressel was or who Herman or Day were, or who Hafley or Dantonio were. But I know what Day is as the CEO of the program. Our goals are not to beat Indiana and Rutgers.

You guys see these post game pressers? If I'm Gene Smith I would call Coach Moore tonight. God how gross is that.
I'm getting neg'd but that just tells me you didn't see Moore's presser.. listen to him talk about being aggressive is for the kids, he is paid to be aggressive & how being conservative in games like this cheats them working their ass off all year for this game.

You don't want that?

Not being serious that I want THAT guy, but, something that sounds and coaches like him. I'd take a General like Tressel or a Swamp King like Urban, but give me someone who wants to make the grass grow with blood against scUM.

Well go watch Kyle in his mop up time since 2021… it’s the same damn thing guys.

He makes a bad throw every game. Sometimes it’s picked and sometimes it’s not. This time is was twice compared to the previous 10 weeks they were dropped.

I hate pinning it all on 1 kid but with better QB play we win this game.

Kyle had played with fire all year too but this time it ran up
This is nuts to pin it on one player.

Yeah and who is?

Defense played well enough.

Seriously we win vs that team 7 out of 10 times.

Literally that’s been the case now for 3 years.

So unless you’re blaming Day nothing else makes sense
It's definitely Day. You know, the guy whose in charge of hiring the coaches and targeting the players we recruit and coming up with/hiring the guys who come up with the game plan.

I mean just look at the shit coming out of the Michigan players and coaches post game.

That should say it all to the staff and the players.
Yes. It's very sad to see. And I actually agree with them - they do WANT it more.

They planted the flag last year in our Block O from that point forward they knew.
Barton mentioned how the Cleveland boys and the Santino Holmes would have cleaned up that mess with Tress. I believe that too. Those were some dawgs. We are pussy right now.

That is a long reply to 1 word. You want an JT or a Braxton every year? McCord was the best we had with what we had. He has hit darts. He has led to a comeback win. He makes mistakes. And if you mean DAY, come on. Who is gonna watlz in and make us great immediately? Not even Satan could come and make it work in 2-3 years.
So you think we have no talent that the next 2 to 3 years are no chance to win it all? Or am I misreading that? I don't agree with this world view.

And the "QB Whisperer's" hand picked QB throws two picks, one on the first drive and one on the last to seal it.

That was the fucking difference in the game.

Day was gift wrapped the Conor Stalion's situation to put a cloud of doubt over the last two years. He went against Sharon fucking Moore and not Harbaugh this year.

Gift wrapped another perfect scenario to get past Michigan
And he still couldn't get it done.

Strike three.

Enough is enough. It's time to move on rather than settle.

Ryan Day is not Jim Tressel.

Ryan Day is not Urban Meyer.

He's James Franklin.
You had me until the last line. That's a bridge too far.

Please stop. There aren't viable candidates out there first of all.

This team had issues like the QB which throughout the season we all knew may have been our achilles heel. McCord has very fundamental faults, that I don't think will ever be corrected.

Day needs to find that sense of urgency with this game, that he seems to have against bigger programs. I just don't get that about him.

Plus, Scum is going to be a shell of itself from here on out.

So please settle down, and stop being ridiculous.
You think Day is the guy to string together 3 or 4 wins in a row to win a playoff series? scUM and The Game no longer matter the way they did, the TV Networks have made sure of it and this was the last version of The Game as we know it. We could have righted every wrong by just playing to our own abilities and strengths. BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED. I know the hardcore's will cringe but this is the truth, case in point: next year, we would have a rematch with them. Great job Ryan Day. Buck stops with him.. you can blame Knowles (who hired him?) you can blame McCord (a kid, who is coached by who at his position and plays are coordinated by who?) you can blame Stallions (a schizotard who will burn the program down he loved so much) but the buck stops at Ryan Day.

What does he need “to get?”

Change his birth certificate to say born in “Ohio?”
It does seem to be different when you're not born into it. I don't know why, but, the coaches even talk about having to teach the national recruits about The Game. If Days QB is saying "just another game" my guess is he hasnt been told by Day that it's more than just a game here in Ohio. Unfortunately thanks to Day sucking in these big games I do have to question if he "gets it". I wanted to believe.

One thing good about west coast 9am kickoffs? I start off drinking slowly. Melt downs aren't pretty. Glad there were no message boards in 1973. it would have been fire Woody!
So long Woody, goodbye Woody

Lanning, DeBoer, Elko, Klieman, Leipold, Fickell, Whittingham.

None of those are more insane than doing the same shit all over again and expecting an entirely different result
None of those could be considered an upgrade either. If the goal is to beat TCUN, win the big 10 and get to a NC game, who on that list makes you think that they could do this? Who on that list would recruit as well?

Before the new format

If he loses next year, I’m right here with everyone with pitchforks calling for Days job. But, that’s more base off of sentiment/emotion than reality. Honestly with the new format, I just want deep runs into the playoffs/NCs. I would love to beat Michigan every year and it doesn’t feel right winning it all unless we do. But this is the last edition of “the game” in the sense that’s its the end all. Yall do realize we could literally play them three times next year (and the foreseeable future) regardless of we win this weekend lol? We just need to win when it matters. Hell, we might still get in this year…
If we somehow scrape our way into the playoff it won't be deserved and we will get smoked.

I have him the benefit of the doubt last year. This year he was going against Sherrone Moore and a Michigan team that had to have gone through hell the last month with news story after news story shredding their program... and he got outclassed again. By their OL coach.

He has a stable of NFL players, is a powerhouse program that can recruit on its name alone and has gotten beaten THREE years in a row.

I'm not being unrealistic or unreasonable. I'm just a year ahead of you.

I know some people are in a different head space, but if you think any of those outside of Lanning, and maybe, maaaaaybe Whittingham, are better than Day you need to take a deep breath and re-evaluate. I see a lot of flavors of the month in there, some real solid coaches, but lowered expectations have a way changing perspectives.

Ryan gets a lot more benefit of the doubt than he probably deserves because he never had to prove himself anywhere else as a HC before getting this job. He walked into an A+ situation, with endless resources in a conference that only has two other reliably competent programs in it. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but I think a lot of you have really inflated opinions of him because he walked directly into this job.

I think it’s irrational to compare where Michigan is currently with what Day has done since he took the job.

Michigan loses 43 players this offseason, in what they’ve built to be a very small window. Michigan’s team falls apart going into next year.

It hasn’t just been the cheating through advanced scouting, but also taking a completely unsustainable approach to bringing in grad transfers and Covid year players to be able to compete at a high level.

Day has maintained the level of the program while fighting through the last year of a very weird situation. Marvin Harrison Jr was one of the youngest players on the field, as a junior mind you, based on how the game has evolved through Covid.

I’ve said it before, but you don’t fire a coach who is a near lock to have you in top 12 going forward in new playoffs. I also think, it’s really important for people to see where OSU’s program is health wise, and then look at what Michigan is about to deal with. Because they’ve gone 100% all-in on this year because they see the cliff in 2024….it sucks in the moment, but I’m actually proud of how OSU showed resiliency today and bounced back several times when momentum was going away from them. That’s a really good Michigan team, with an insane amount of experience and depth.
