THE GAME, tOSU at tCun, Sat. 11/25, 12pm ET, FOX

Fast forward to 48:10 I for Urban interview.
Thanks for the time stamp

EDIT: Must Watch

Urban calls the advantage afforded by TCUN’s scheme “huge” at one point and “massive” at another, and that was assuming that the defense knew only whether it was a pass and whether the pass was a screen. He went on to say you can’t have a conversation with anyone who thinks otherwise because they obviously don’t know what they’re talking about

Bo conducted himself in a manner of which he was worthy of respect. This is the difference.
When Tress got his first win in 2001, he was gracious, humble and showed great sportsmanship towards Carr. When Meyer got his first win, he explained how significant it was in the arc of his coaching career and how grateful he was. Both rather measured in their words.

Harbaugh did nothing but bitch and whine for 8 years. Then when he finally broke through, could do nothing but lob insults (born on third). There's no worse cheater than one who proceeds to trash others as they're doing it. Harbaugh doesn't receive respect because he, and anyone who would follow or support that clown, are unworthy of it.

Fuck em', each and every last god damn one. Set it all to fire, piss in the ashes, and salt the ground so nothing ever grows there again.

You'll be treated with respect when you compose yourself with it.

Edit. Nevermind, they're past redemption. Fuck them, all that they think they stand for, and I hope they're all audited by the IRS.

Day is liked and respected in the coaching fraternity. Harbaugh is loathed, and it's not for his success but for his personality and ego. In the immortal words of Pete Carroll, "what the hell is your deal?"

It's not a criticism of Day, just an observation...he's a little sensitive. I'm not sure how to describe Urban's personality besides "edgy".

Harbaugh is a grating asshole of biblical proportions.

There is really no way you were going to add these three parts together and get calm waters.

I think Harbaugh suffered under Urban but could somehow keep his ego in tact by telling himself it was because of what he took over from Hoke and that as soon as Urban was gone, he'd take control of the Rivalry. (that's bullshit but what we tell ourselves to keep our egos in tact often is).

Then when Day takes over the machine and hands Harbaugh his ass in 2019 I think Jimmah snapped. He just couldn't live with the underling taking over the old masters machine and beating him with it, thus the 3rd base comment in '21. You could see it in Jimmah's body language during that '19 Game. They scored first and he was fist pumping and saying "see, we can beat these guys let's go" by the time the ass beating was in full throat, he had a thousand yard stare going on and now we know what he was thinking. He would literally do anything from that point forward. He can live with being a liar and a cheat, he can't live with a younger coach beating him in The Game.

Best post I've seen in a long time. Hit the nail on the head completely.

Maryland just made too many mistakes. We can’t make those mistakes.

The only thing I’d push back a bit on with the snowball theory is what if the reverse happens? If we can’t run the ball and can’t stop the run early will we panic? Will we start to think “oh it wasn’t the cheating”.

Now I think our defense is much better this year and I don’t think their OL is even close to as good as last year. Not to mention I think their skill at WR is dog shit.

But, it’s extremely important to strike first and strike hard. Because again what we can’t have happen is for them to march down the field on a 7 minute drive to start and then for us to go three and out. We cannot have this scenario play out. We have to start out moving the ball and more importantly we need to get an early stop on defense

Certainly possible and we've certainly seen Ryan Day turn turtle when things get tough in big games, but I feel like tCun are much more susceptible to doubt than the Buckeyes. TCun have been dominant for most of the year. They're supposed to come out and enforce their will. They must already have doubts about their abilities after the last two weeks. Going down early could easily cause them to panic.

Ohio State, on the other hand, has had many close games. They've been behind several times. They've had parts of the offense become non-existent for stretches and still found a way to win. I don't think this team panics because they're just not built to be dominant this year, they just get it done. The coach, well we'll see. Cautiously optimistic.

Totally agreed.

We need to start fast and put pressure on them to answer. Because if they don’t answer and we score again? They’re in deep shit.
