THE GAME, tOSU at tCun, Sat. 11/25, 12pm ET, FOX

I don’t know who Michigan’s strength coach is, but he’s had them playing stronger than their opponents in the fourth quarter the last there years. That showed up in the Penn State game and in the last two games with the Bucks. Maybe it was sign stealing, but they sure shoved both the o and d lines around in those three games.

I’m thinking this game will come down to which team can stay strongest in the fourth.
From what I heard yesterday, they're quite deep. Been playing 8-10 players on the DL alone.
Obviously, with that weak ass schedule, they were able to play multiple players throughout the season to reduce energy and injury opportunities.

Consider what a huge physical advantage it was to have your coaches putting you in exactly the right position. No need to read the play and then react...just go balls out from the snap. As for Penn State, their D was completely gassed at the end from being on the field too much. I don't give them any credit for that. tcun certainly didn't physically dominate Maryland in the second half.

Tempo is the key. The scum coaches and players are all lost right now having to make quick reads and decisions.

If we can run tempo early and put them in a hole, I don’t think they’re capable of climbing out of it the way things are now.
Need to limit Corum and force Spin Pass to beat us. If we do that, we win big because Spin Pass has been completely exposed without Stalions on the sideline. If Corum has a big day, I think it's a shootout.

Agreed. Find tempo and put them at a disadvantage from an adjustment and communication stand point since they’re down 2 coaches right now.

Then you just have to limit their run game. If we can get the same performance that Maryland did vs their run game that’s enough to blow their doors off.

Also, we all know how sorry Penn State is on offense. Maryland was able to stay on the field enough to give their defense a break.

So that ties right back to stopping the run. We’ve got to stop the run to get our defense off the field. The offense also has to do their part by picking up some first downs too.

What Michigan likes to do is run the ball, churn out a 4 minute drive, and then with a fresh defense get off the field quick to repeat the process. That’s when those 4 minute drives turn into 6 minute drives. That’s when drives ending in field goals end up back breaking touchdowns.

We have to break that cycle somewhere. Offense has to be successful on first down and the defense has to stop the run.

Gentlemen, Ladies, and Thump -

I'm traveling this year for Thanksgiving. Gonna go make some memories with my family and in-laws and nieces and nephews. As such, my posting is going to be a little light this week until Saturday evening when we return home.

I want to wish you all the absolute best of luck against your rival this year. I'm a firm believe that good things happen to good people and all of you are good people. Kick their ass, celebrate on their field, plant the Block O flag in the middle of their turf and wave to Coach Harbaugh on the cameras. Maryland with significantly less talent showed me that you can run the ball on their team. Even though I'll have to listen on the radio, I'm expecting an epic Tresel-Balling game. Punting is winning and JJ McCarthy is Belgian waffle soft.

Screw the snow. Win and knock them out of the playoff.
One final point - There is absolutely nothing more wonderful in football than seeing your rivals head for the exits at the end of the 3rd quarter. It's incredible. Send them all home sad, confused, tired and cold.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Guarded optimism is the feeling here.

Two positives for us. Their lack of knowing the plays ahead of time certainly hurts them. Have they played anyone as strong as us? Not hardly.

Two negatives for us. Even without the cheating, their team is talented and lots of experience. We have not played anyone this season of their quality.

Regardless, it is all thrown out the window this week as it is THE GAME!
