The 2020 College Football Season

I know it always sounds sketchy to mention, but I have a friend who works in the AAC and apparently PSU was having a hard time getting tests back. Was taking them close to 2 weeks, making the tests practically worthless.

Have to think that kind of stuff was factoring into the decisions being made.

The number of tests being used by professional sports is causing slowdowns in processing.

Yeah...if. But most schools are going in a different direction. I love the "no parties" rule - good luck enforcing that one.

Test them all you like, a large college campus with thousands of students is likely to have a Covid outbreak this fall.

No parties, no trips: Colleges set COVID-19 rules for fall

Lmaooooo

“Asking students to promise”

Telling college kids not to party or go anywhere is like asking a wet turd not to stink

I’m wondering if the B1G considered allowing the student-athletes to participate in a vaccine trial, where everyone who participates would actually receive the vaccine and not a placebo.

If given the option I think a high majority of football players would have been willing to sign a waiver and take the vaccine in order to play football this fall. They could have 1500-2000 participants in the trial if the staff members were included.

Is it too late to consider this, or could that approach #SaveThe Season ?

This is the perfect opportunity for a semi-pro developmental or NFL minor league to launch. College football could be going through its death throes - administrators should be happy to see players unionize as long as they stay in the college system.

College sports at least as we know them are likely definitely over. Athletic department finances are going to take a beating over no football season. Tons of non revenue programs at a lot of school will be getting the axe.

I thought there was a weird situation where the Football championship wasn't considered an NCAA championship or was that only in the BCS days

I don’t think the NCAA technically sanctions the title. However with less than 50% of the division playing of course a hypothetical title is significantly watered down.

They are already trying to ramp up the “it’s no different it still means the same” narrative. Which deep down they have to know is a crock of shit.
