The 2020 College Football Season

Let's make this awesome schedule that allows us to push the start of the season back in case we have any issues or adjust midseason...but not use it and just reactively cancel the season a week later.

Genius!

I'm telling you, there was never the intention to actually play this fall. That was all a PR stunt to buy time for someone else to take the cancellation/postponement leap first.

I don't see any way they don't.

They can hold out and chest thump all they want but it seems inevitable that everyone shuts down.

I don't think so - while the Pac-12 will follow the B1G, there's enough ambiguouity among the various conferences that I could absolutely see the Big 12, ACC and SEC going forward all the same. And if they do, the B1G is going to suffer.

And let's be clear here, when they say spring, they aren't talking April or May. They are talking right in the middle of cold/flu season in february/March. Spring is a non-starter also.

ACC & SEC will play regardless... not enough Academics among them to stand up the ADs and say this shouldn’t happen...

while it was stupid to call it this early without the other conferences on board it will hurt B1G football and other sports for years to come... yes that wont have a huge impact on the Uni and academics but it will have an impact on the Athletic Dept and all those 30+ other non rev scholarship sports are toast...
