matta to conley in first practice: "you go until i tell you to stop." i've never gotten the sense that matta wants to pull the reins on his players' abilities. that's why he recruits top-level players.
Butler was being kicked out of his comfort zone at point guard and forced to adapt to shooting guard. Better yet, he had to relinquish his spot to a freshman.
Butler hardly sounds upset about it.
"As soon as they arrived here in the summer, we bonded and clicked," said Butler, referring to all the freshmen. "It's the closest-knit team I've ever played on."
