On an unrelated but related note, I am so tired of the "if only x had happened, we would have won." Those arguments are completely bogus. x didn't happen, nor did a limitless number of other possibilites. "VY didn't break away for six 4th-quarter touchdowns, or we would have really won big, etc." It it pointless to fret about what didn't occur, so let's stop dwelling on these things, pulesze.

That is a very ironic statement considering that the concrete result of the series is 1-1...a tie. Yet, you have chosen to employ a 100% opinionated, "what if" philosophy to designate Texas as the winner of the series.

Seriously, are you trying to be this illogical or is this really you?

I still can't get past the fact that Texas fans think they "won" the season because they sucked more than us in one of the years. How does that make sense in Texas?

Plagiarist.

There is nothing "what if" about my argument. My case is predicated on the results of the two games. After the results (the facts) are in, I draw a conclusion. You may disagree with my conclusions, but there is no speculation about what might have happened in it. "What if" has nothing to do with it. If I had made this argument and stated that if Texas could have played better in game 2, than we could have won both games, then I would be guilty of your comment. As I stated them, there is no correlation.

One "fact" you rely on is a 12-1 finish with a loss in the Natinal Championship game and having the Heisman Trophy winner defines "sucks". That is simply not true and calls into question your entire argument.

The concrete fact: 1-1.

Your opinion and the "what if" logic it employs is a waste of space on this forum. Your logic itself is the speculation...what you are claiming is complete and absolute opinion and as you put it: It it pointless to fret about what didn't occur, so let's stop dwelling on these things, pulesze.

Is that clear enough for you?

The second being that the Texas win was ultimately more important, being that it had title victory implications. You played so much better in the second game, but the OSU win meant less, as you got thoroughly smoked in on the MNC.
Using your "logic", Texas' 60-3 win over Louisiana-Lafayette to open the 2005 season was "ultimately more important" than Ohio State's victory over Texas in 2006. Something fishy about that line of "reasoning"....
