Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

My son and his family are moving to Austin within the month and no they are not even close to a Cali type...
They are welcome ... are they living in South Dallas (Round rock/cedar park/leander), Austin, Golden Hills (Lakeway/Lake Travis/west lake), or the country (Hays county/Buda/Kyle)

My new neighbor moved from Austin. Austin has inevitably, lost some of it's "charm". It's grown too fast and is too populated now. But still a pretty great city.
I moved from Austin in 2013, and when I left the city was expanding at a ridiculous rate, they couldnt build enough housing for the amount of people moving in.
And @cincibuck , I thought Salt Lick was overrated. For the drive, I would just go in the other direction to Lockhart or Taylor and have some life changing BBQ

Nowhere near Austin, but had some of this in Richland Hills this summer.

Salt Lick is about the experience and the 2nd plate of family style is always 100x better than the first.... but yeah there are crap tons of good BBQ places around
