Re: Colt McCoy's Wife Talks Longhorn Athlete Perks On ESPN Radio

I like ESPN's the journmalism here, Texas players get some stuff from a booster and it is just called "perks". Ohio state players gets stuff and it is a major NCAA rules violation.

perk - (noun) - an incidental benefit awarded for certain types of employment (especially if it is regarded as a right); "a limousine is one of the fringe benefits of the job"

Everyone get's to propose on the stadium scoreboard. No extra benefit here:

Colt McCoy Engaged: Rachel Glandorf Accepts On-Field Marriage Proposal

Yahoo! Sports/AP:

AUSTIN, Texas (AP)--Colt McCoy popped the question in true Texas football style.

The former Longhorns quarterback brought girlfriend Rachel Glandorf to Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Monday night. When they got to the field, "Will You Marry Me?" was on the stadium's giant high definition scoreboard screen.

I guess "Will You Marry Me and sign a pre-nup?" was too long.

No mention of this on espn.com that I see, no word that si.com is sending its investigative crew to Austin, no word that all of the local Austin news outlets are performing undercover surveillance on UT football players to see what kind of cars they're driving, where they're eating, etc., no word that the NCAA is looking into this at all.

Why?

Why?

because they didn't self report thus opening the floodgates.
