Was he sick all spring? Didn't hear much about him. That headlined my Spring practice disappointment along with Marshons and Meechs injuries.

Nick Vannett will assume most of Jeff Huerman's snaps but his departure should also benefit the former four-star tight end.
Of course, no article including Baugh also goes without mentioning his off-field transgressions. No one has ever questioned his talent. In the past, the staff, media, and fans all had concerns about his focus.
"I felt like I earned [the coaches trust] back, and then I lost it all again. It was rough,” Baugh said last year at Student Appreciation Day. "It definitely opened my eyes. I’m out of chances. I have to do this. After my second incident, I thought I was gone."
Now, he seems to have put it all behind him and is ready to make an impact. Baugh has three more seasons to live up to his billing as a top-five tight end in his class and he may not have much of a chance this year. Still, like Dunn and endless Meyer players before them, if Baugh is a consistent performer on special teams, he will receive more snaps on offense.

When Marcus Baugh arrived at Ohio State, there wasn't many who questioned his talent on the football field.
A four-star tight end from Riverside, Calif., Baugh committed to the Buckeyes early in the recruiting process, before finally signing his Letter of Intent as a member of Urban Meyer's 2013 recruiting class.
Then, immaturity, laziness and ultimately trouble hit.
Baugh has a pair of run-ins with the law in his first year at Ohio State, then was indefinitely suspended for a third — for underage consumption of alcohol.
The screw ups yielded a redshirt season for Baugh, who then sat behind upperclassmen Jeff Heuerman and Nick Vannett during Ohio State's run through the inaugural College Football Playoff last season.
Undoubtedly in Meyer's doghouse, Baugh is determined to put those dumb miscues behind him in order to step in as the backup to Vannett in 2015.
"All that's behind me. I was 18, I'm over that now," Baugh said Tuesday, the first time he's been permitted to speak to the media since spring of 2014. "I think I'm pretty good right now, I'm just trying to earn the trust to get on the field now."

Buckeye One-Two Punch at Tight End Depends on the Development of Marcus Baugh
It's been a great couple of years for tight ends at Ohio State. Over that time Jeff Heuerman and Nick Vannett have provided the Buckeyes both pass receiving skills and blocking ability, key elements from the tight end position in Urban Meyer's offense.
Now, things have changed.
Meyer's offense still relies on dependable tight end play, but Heuerman is gone leaving Vannett as the only returner with appreciable experience at tight end. Vannett has nothing to prove, but if the Buckeyes are going to have a reliable backup or second tight end on the field, it's going to be Marcus Baugh, and Baugh definitely has his skeptics.
Baugh came to Ohio State as a highly touted, pass-catching tight end from California, but with Heuerman and Vannett ahead of him his playing time was going to be limited, even under the best of circumstances. Those circumstances haven't exactly turned out to be the best for Baugh, and some of that has been of his own doing. Some off-field issues have put him in Urban Meyer's dog house at times, further limiting his time of the field.
As the third tight end at practice, his reps were also limited, so it's been an uphill fight for Baugh. Now things have changed, or at least that what Baugh says.
First there's those off-field problems.

Champions were Tommy Schutt, Adolphus Washington, Darron Lee and Vonn Bell on defense; and Michael Thomas, Jalin Marshall, Curtis Samuel, Braxton Miller, Pat Elflein, Jacoby Boren, Billy Price, Nick Vannett, Marcus Baugh and Ezekiel Elliott on offense. Cameron Johnston's job is to drop the punt on the 8-yard line, and that's what he did four times.

+ Hinton said that having Urban Meyer talk up Marcus Baugh a bit has actually helped Baugh get better this season and they are seeing results. "He's gaining confidence every day." He has been a champion the last two weeks, as has Nick Vannett. Saturday night was Vannett's best game.
