TE J.T. Moore (Official Thread)

J.T. looks pretty good on film. As grad said, with some technique, he could be shedding defenders so easily with his tools. Hard to tell much on his frame but from the pictures, it looks like he has plenty of room to fill out. I would think the staff has seen him in person because one, he is from Youngstown, and two he is teammates with Linsley. Looks like we have some serious talent in Ohio at DE next year.

He is an excellent basketball player as well (First-team all Federal league as a frosh), but doesn't have the body to play on the front line in college.

To pile on my earlier reply, Thad Gibson was 6'3", 207 going into his junior year of high school. Mooore is the same height and 18 pounds heavier entering his junior year...he'll have zero problems getting big enough to play DE in big-time college ball.

With the staff landing Linsley, I'm certain the staff has watched hours of film on JT already. I'm also pretty sure they asked Linsley questions about him as well, seeing as though he probably lined up across from JT pretty regularly everyday.

Being one of the first offerees for the '10 class, I have no doubt the staff sees something special in JT.

Perhaps what HPodge meant was that he didn't have the frame to play on the frontline(in basketball) at the college level. His future is def. football. J.T could be ALOT bigger when he sets foot on campus in 2 years.

Yup. There's no way he could be a forward in basketball at a Division I school. He can certainly be a DE in football. In fact, it is entirely possible he isn't bigger now simply because he plays basketball.

If that's the case, then I stand corrected...

ok back to jt

Assuming the laughter is in reference to what I listed as his height (which was what it was listed at coming out of Brookhaven), why assume JT Moore's height isn't also exaggerated, as is the case with pretty much every athlete? Yes, guys with that build have played forward at Division I schools but they are exceedingly rare. St. Xavier's Mike Marshall is the Ohio-bred poster-boy for this in that he was a national football recruit who chose to be play basketball at Butler-- and he had the same listed size as Moore at the same stage. Moore isn't the rebound machine either Cornley or Marshall are/were either, so his height would work against him more so than the other two.

All right, I'm done with this.

I am almost sure that he was referring to Cornley being 6'5" and playing the 5 position for a major college program.

Back to JT.:)
