The defense allowed 234 yards and 13 points. You cannot seriously lay any real blame on the defense when the offense continually hung them out to dry.
Well the defense gave up multiple drives that second half and were lucky to get that Sawyer INT. Then we gave up that game ending 35 yard run to Mullens when we had him dead in the backfield.

The loss is at the feet of Day and Kelly but surely the defense down the stretch just failed to make 1 more tackle or play.

Other thing I don't like about Day is his QB selection. And maybe that's just coming from me being a bit spoiled from those athletic guys that Urban Meyer brought in, but I don't know. I mean yes when Howard gets protected as he should be, he can make most throws and operate like a traditional QB, but if that breaks down, he's not going to elude a whole lot of guys.

But I seriously think if we're going to beat these guys we gotta get back to.getting more of the JT Barrett and Justin Fields types who at least could wear the defenders out making them try and chase them all over the field.
Our QBs have not been the issue. Kyle McCord just went 8-3 at Syracuse. If anything, Day has held our QBs back.

I want to know why we never have a backup ready to go. I appeared obvious to me that Howard was to hurt to get it done. But I assume Brown was a nuclear option. Really reminds me of the Missouri game were the Dakota kid looked like a Pop Warner kid out there with zero coaching.

Honestly if Howard was broke with the way that game was flowing I play Sayin. I trust him more than brown to consistently throw the ball I expect Brown runs the offense better though

We have also gotten away from what made us so successful. We really need a true running QB. Not like 15+ times a game but a guy who when he runs is a problem.

Fucking D kept us in this game. Did they give up a couple of plays sure, but the offense put them in terrible positions all game long.

Because Day never gets one ready. It’s the same shit every year. He never gets the backups meaningful playing time.

If Howard had thrown five interceptions, but they were all on deep routes to Smith, Egbuka and Tate we would have won this game the way our defense played. Also, Day needs to understand that this isn't 1985. You don't run the ball to open up the passing game. You throw the ball downfield to open opportunities for the running game. Unfortunate thing is that he damn well knows this. He just couldn't help himself and just turtled it up from the very beginning. I'm surprised we weren't running the I-formation.

Poor Fielding is going to bring the ugliest element of our fanbase out from under their rocks.

Day is the one who thought Fielding would be good enough at Kicker. If anyone is to blame it’s him for leaning on a guy who clearly is not reliable.
