I am having problems getting the Fed to accept my return and the message from Turbotax is cryptic at best and I can get it fixed. I have tried three times so far. It says the Taxpayer TIN in the header cannot be the same as a previously submitted return. Every time I go back in to try to fix it, it takes me to the PIN you use when you submit. I have verified and fixed these, but it still reflects it. Any thoughts?
Many other issues with Turbotax this time as well. Not doing it next year.
Oh, that's no good. That's the e-file reject you get when someone has already filed a return using your name & SSN in order to claim a fraudulent refund.
Hope you like hold music, because you're going to get a fair dose of it over the next week.
Here's the guide to what to do next.

But......although a huge pain in the ass, it's not a big deal. You'll talk to the IRS, send them an identity theft affidavit, have to file by paper this year, and then get a PIN to use when e-filing in future years. Not much else to it other than taking the usual credit protection step.
