sadly enough...getting a refund. Always good to have zero at the end imo. Why give out a free loan? Although mine was weird because the form for education payments w/ scholarships and what not...left room for me to deduct some..even though....uh.....better stop before the IRS sees this.

I don't know much about this whole tax return thing...But why don't you want a return?

I wouldn't mind taking the money

Couple of reasons. People who get no return did a very good job with balancing their Personal Allowances so the taxes being withheld on paychecks equal the actual tax owed. Most people getting refunds usually have too much withheld and the money goes to the government for the year until it is given back to you with a refund.

Second, if you owe the government money it very well could mean you had a very good year where you earned a high income. At least the government thinks it is high. :wink2:

Here in Nevada, there's no state tax, just the Federal one. I'm getting $900 back. Unfortunately, the clutch is slipping in my car, so I guess I know where most of that refund is going...

...it's actually amazing, whenever I come into a little bit of extra money, something always comes up that I have no choice but to pay for.

That's something I had to explain to my wife last weekend. We got married last year, bought a house, and ended up getting back over $2500. She thought this was the norm and was disappointed to find out we were getting back $236 this year. I was pretty happy with my planning.
