Spiderman
Dare Devil
Punisher
Fantastic Four
Batman
Incredible Hulk
Elektra
and now Superman

They're going to run out of comic books soon.
Fads. :shake:

They have been doing movies based on comics for years and years, I wouldn't say it is a fad at all. Superman shows/movies go back to the 50's I beleive. There were cheesy Spiderman movies made in the 70's. So there is no way you can call comic book books a fad, circular sure, but as long as the movies are actually well written and well produced comic books are an easy way to make a good action movie while telling a good story. Most of the fan base is already there, you just have to find a good story to latch on to and turn it into a movie. So they are far from a fade

Spider-Man came out in 2002
Dare Devil in 2003
Incredible Hulk in 2003
Punisher in 2004
Spider-Man 2 in 2004
Elektra in 2005
Batman Begins in 2005
Fantastic Four in 2005

That's 8 movies based on comic books released in a 4-year span. Yeah, I'd call it a fad.

The X-Men and Spiderman movies were fantastic...they made it worth sitting through some of the other crappy ones (Hulk, Elektra, Catwoman) for.

I'm a HUGE Superman fan, but the trailers for this Superman movie tells me this thing is going to suck big time. First and foremost, their casting of Superman was terrible.

I doubt I even watch this one.

Superman III 1983
Superman II 1981

Blade 1998
Blade II 2002
Blade III 2004

Please tell me, how much did the Batman movies in the 90's and Superman movies in the 80's make in the box offices compared to Spider-Man's $403 million alone in 2002? Comic book movies are more popular and are making more money right now than they ever have before.

513 I know buckeyefool personally and know better than to ever get into a debate with him about movies, TV, wrestling, or comic books.

I think he's proved his point.

When adjusted for inflation.

As you can see Spiderman is at 15th, Batman at 19th if you go through the entire list you would see that the sequal to both Superman and Batman are ahead of movies such as the Xmen series. So once again, not a fad.

I guess we should expect that out of a freaking 16 year old. Believe it or not They've already made 4 Superman movies probably all before you were born. You also probably haven't seen Supergirl (hottie). You forgot X-Men so don't be surprised when X-Men 3 comes out in May. I can't wait for Bluntman and Chronic to come out. :p :pimp:
