Super Bowl XLIX, Sun 2/1 @ 6:30p ET, NBC

Eh, I've basically come to see the NFL as an extension of the WWE where different play "roles". Sherman is the heel. Seems like a nice guy otherwise.
Absolutely, and he's really good at what he does. He talks a lot of crap, and usually backs it up. Hell, if he played for the Niners, I'd love the guy. However, this time the trash talking came back to bite him in the arse, and I love it.

As for the BeastMode stat, still a dumb move in my IMO. You have two plays to get 1/2 yard for the win. Throwing in a compressed field like that runs the risk of somebody jumping the route and picking it off...just like Tyvis Powell, and just like last night. You have very narrow windows that close in the blink of an eye. That's a bad risk when you have probably the most physical runner in the game who doesn't fumble.

Listening to a lot of sports talk radio the day after, people are speculating whether or not Darrell Bevell has lost the locker room and whether he can be brought back (if it was really his call).

Just people bloviating at this point.

Fun game to watch.Hats off to Chris Matthews and Edelman. Both played stellar.

Seattle fans want Bevell's head on a stick. Tough way to loose a game, glad im not a Hawks fan this morning.

Best Halftime performance
Was going to scalp some tickets at the stadium but highest priced SB tickets :grr:

Best Halftime performance

Would have been a lot better if Katy Perry had suffered a couple wardrobe malfunctions.

I'm not a gurl-pop fan by any stretch but it was good spectacle. Bruno Mars killed it last year too. Performance have definitely been up over the last several years. While acts like The Boss and The Who are more up my alley musically, it's painful watching geriatric rockers try to sing like the used to back in the day.

Indeed, Matthews surely gave Seahawk fans a tingling sensation up their leg. And living a stones throw from Kent State, like to say congrats to Julian Edelman, another Super Bowl champion from Kent State joining Lambert, Harrison, etc.

Edelman, Kline extend Kent State's Super Bowl history

>

And several years ago had Progressive insurance ~ switched to Nationwide and saved about $300. But alas, switched to Geico a couple years ago and saved $200 more.

>

btw, my sister went to Kent State for one year, 1969 and also went to Kent State high school aka the University school which no longer exists as it's now the KSU financial aid building. I digress.

And yes, oddly the Golden Flashes have a fairly decent sports tradition w/Lambert/Harrison/Holtz/Saban/Thurman Munson/Gates/Cribbs, etc.

Aunt and Uncle went to Kent St. It was cool seeing Edelman went there.

An interesting fact I saw was there were no 5* recruits that played in that SB. Just goes to show hard work and good coaching play a big part in success.

Didn't Harbaugh have the same fit of full-retard a couple years ago? Passed 3 times against the Ravens instead of using a prime Frank Gore?
And let us not forget 1st and goal from the three and Forrest Greg sent Pete Johnson three times and couldn't get the score against the 49ers. So it's not a lock:
On first down, Johnson drove into the line and gained 2 yards down to the 49ers' 1-yard line. The Bengals then tried to run Johnson into the line on second down, but lost a yard. They tried a swing pass on third down, but the receiver was pulled down on the one. They went back to Johnson on fourth down and the play was stuffed.

Pete Johnson wasn't Marshawn Lynch, but he was an excellent full back running behind Anthony Munoz and Dave Lampham.

and if you get beat with your best guy running your best play then so be it

the play being a "lock" isn't the point

There was time to run your best player from the 1/2 yard line and if stopped, call a TO and try 2 passes to the end zone

Going straight to Russel Wilson before another try with Lynch was just ignorant
