Super Bowl XLIII: Steelers(-6.5) vs. Cardinals

I was listening to ESPN radio the other day(Because 1460 is now on 97.1, I'm done now.) and Tirico said he talked to an official and the play was in fact reviewed and they determined it was a fumble. Tirico said he thought the right call was made but questioned why play wasn't stopped and the guy told him they determined quickly it was a fumble...for what it's worth.

thats what they said during the also. It may have been a fumble, and there is a good chance nothing would have changed with the outcome, however if they spend 10 minutes trying to decide if a play was right in the middle of the season half way through the 3rd Quarter of some random game, why not take the time to double check the last ply of the Superbowl, just to make sure you have it right for sure.

Believe me, I fully expected there to be a review.

One question I have is whether Harrison offered any explanation for his actions. I watch a lot of Steelers' games, and I have never seen him do anything like this. To the extent that it seems out of character for him, I wonder if the video, which cuts in only right before he strikes the other player, only caught Harrison's response to something the Cardinals player did. Anyone hear anything about this?

I thought it was a nasty block on an ongoing play. I mean, it's no different than a 320lb. O-lineman sumo-splashing a guy when the play is twenty yards downfield.

It's fucking football. I'm tired of the whining that goes on from people. They're grown fucking men out there. They can handle themselves. They don't need millions of people crying for them.

EDIT: It wasn't even close to a fucking punch either. No matter what John Madden's fat ass had to say. He fucking threw him. That's it. He was blocking on a punt return and stayed on his block. Fuck the pussification of the NFL. It's getting to the point where you're going to have to show your vagina at the combine to get drafted. :shake:

Agree 100%. When I initially saw it, I thought it was a pretty cheap shot. Upon further review however, I've changed my stance. Francisco went low to take Harrison's knees out, and Harrison stayed on top of him. That wasn't nearly as big of a punch as the one a Cardinal DB threw in the 1st half. (I'll see if I can find video of it.)

This should not have been flagged, and no matter what Madden says, he should not have been thrown out for it.
